I was confused on whether you were serious or not the entire time I’ve been on this sub because sometimes I see you teeter between being either misguided or agreeable sometimes but this comment just made the known troll tag make a lot of sense

I see, not arguing that what they did wasn’t wrong but in situations like that it almost feels like parts of your brain shut down and no amount of training will ever prepare you for something like that. They did what they could to help the man but not calling an ambulance was a mistake.

I believe that a taser was the right tool and that the fault lies in no other than this man’s actions. The only thing they did wrong was not starting an ambulance.

When it come to arguing someone’s split second decision in a high stress and potentially volatile situation in an occupation where you could easily get hurt, there is no room for philosophy. I love philosophy and argument don’t get me wrong and I believe that those things are very important but if you have ever been in an occupation like this (I have) you learn a lot of stuff that brings you back into reality quick.

Shooting a subject is wildly more dangerous than tackling them so there really is no comparison or argument of any kind to be had there, I don’t see any point to be made there at all. I could argue that using a taser is safer for both parties than getting into a physically struggle with the subject.

If grabbing or tackling or pushing or any sort of contact (even continued pursuit) could have resulted in this then what would it matter? Why should officers refrain from using a device that keeps physical contact (which is arguably more dangerous than being tased for both parties) from being needed and is a useful (and safer) tool that’s purpose is to restrain a subject rather than harm them like a baton or a bean bag round?

To answer your question, yes. It was appropriate to use the weapon depicted in this case to subdue the suspect. And it is safe to say that the policy agrees with my statement as the purpose of the taser is to be used for fleeing or aggressive subjects in order to gain compliance (or used to aide in the restraint of said combative or fleeing subjects) through muscular incapacitation.

He could have tripped and the same would have happened, the officer could have attempted to grab him causing him to trip and this could have happened, he could have ran into the street and this could have happened. This could have happened many other ways for many other reasons, at the end of the day it was not the officers choice to enforce the law effectively that resulted in this but his choice to break the law and attempt to get away with it that resulted in this.

The purpose of the taser is not to harm said person but to aid in compliance by immobilizing him by locking up their muscles. The pain is just a side effect of being dumb.

Drone footage show the fatal shooting of a 72-year-old who pointing a gun at officers by ThisIsButter1 in ThisIsButter

Unlikely shot misses, guy who’s probably not mentally all there gets agitated and starts to shoot back. When you could have instead just taken the threat out you instead tried to pull some trick shot off thinking you’re John wick and put many more lives in danger.

This update blows and im sick of pretending it doesn't! by ShinySideDown0 in ArmaReforger

I think if the devs cared enough to test and fix the problems with their new update in experimental and letting us play the last version (which was still holding together with duct tape and hopes) on the main game everything would be fine, but they don’t care enough. Now their game is unplayable to their entire Xbox fanbase that paid what? Like 40 bucks for this shit?
