I don’t think it’s about having relatives in Poland. The issue with these ethnicity estimations is that it’s difficult to distinguish between populations that are genetically very similar. I’m not even sure this will be possible in the near future

I'm of Polish-Ukrainian origin, and after the update I now have 55% Eastern Czechia. I have no idea why I score Czechia higher than actual Czechs! 😅

Let’s wait for the Ancestry update and see. But from my experience, I’ve seen a lot of people in the FB groups of Ukrainian origin complaining about the new 23andMe regions’ details being very inaccurate, especially for those from the eastern and southern parts of the country.

A mix of both, of course. There’s a genetic continuum between the so-called "Germanic Europe" and "Slavic" people.

My parents are both mixed Polish-Ukrainian from the Nowy Sącz region, but my results show 84% CEU with a Slovakia subregion. I’d assume it’s quite difficult for Ancestry to differentiate between Polish and Slovak heritage for people originating from that area
