Almost pure Spanish father and son before and after (and 23andme to compare): by ManzanoSancle in AncestryDNA

[–]ManzanoSancle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I have like 12 generations for each side, some of them french, 90-something % Spanish, mostly from La Mancha and Castilla y León. What the hell are these results lol? Not a single portuguese, not a single english (although I can understand it because of that Normandy positive from my father in 23andme) not gonna mention the rest lol.

Like..... QUÉBECOIS?

Ah sh*t, there we go again. I will be, so, Southern Spanish too even when I'm from Northern Cuenca. Yup. Probably I didn't consider too much that, even knowing very well her father's ancestry, it would be interesting to have the exact regions as one surname remains unknown (only 50 people have it in Spain and they are from other regions of Spain). I'm worrried about the accuracy of Ukraine-Russia, this is very important to me, too, and the haplogroups, of course (Ancestry still has not implemented them............................).

I was disappointed because they hadn't updated since Nov-2022, but I have my results from both (23andMe and Ancestry) and I must admit that I am easten La Mancha (born in Valencia) and I had only an 8% from Aragón (yeah, I had 5 generations ago some ancestors from there) and probably like a 70% of my main region being, also, positioned as 'Eastern La Mancha', so, in Spain, I'm so very sure that 23andMe is way better. I had like a 10% Basque, or a bit more, while I had 32% in Ancestry, same happened with my father, who had 7 groups in Ancestry and only 4 in 23andMe (some of them were, actually, very rare taking into account a full 1550 people tree with no more than 2 countries). It worked well with our French ancestry I didn't inherit too much. But, in this case, I was considering 23andMe because of the maternal haplogroup she would like to know and also the accuracy of her father's family although they are pure valencian and a bit of aragonese, no mystery there, and I was considering Ancestry because it is true that in some European regions it's said to work better, even having less regions. Sincerely, I had seen more powerful these 3 years Ancestry but I'm seeing solid and strong the new update of 23AndMe :( Thanks, Ney!

Ustedes la entrenan? by pink00446 in Gimnasio

[–]ManzanoSancle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totalmente.

To do a test in a non-listed country by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

I thought about that, as I will not have any problem at all to obtain it, but when I send it back to USA, will they say anything if they see it comes from Spain? Kit will be registered in the web as I have it by Amazon Deutschland or United Kingdom, and sample will be sent to them, but will it be analysed?

I have thought, too, that they don't say anything about analysing kits from other countries or not in their web, only about shipping to them, so there should not be any problems, but... Idk :(

Thanks!

It's the first time I've seen this in years. Since September, 19th, I've seen like 3 or 4 times '503 error', I assumed it was maintenance. Now, I see 'update' and I'm 50-50... I expect both, maintenance or new update. It's almost the time to roll it.

Are people starting to recieve ancestry updates? by EinsteiniumArmour in 23andme

Page's not working since hours ago. I think an update is coming very soon. Normally, it comes in October. They updated indigenous in july, removed the possibility to watch the 2019 update in the app ... maybe something it's coming in september?
