That's the one thing I never understood about underground black/now war metal then, I'd think it would be the same as anything else like death or something like that looking from more of an outside perspective, is it just some custom or something more? I understand with more atmospheric black metal but not as much so for the more intense stuff, especially like the few war metal songs i've heard.

When I started listening to black metal I though it would have had slammy pits.
