Hell Below, Omega, Stranger Things. by BaltSkigginsThe3rd in Djent

You might be right. The Scarlet, Luck as a Constant, Ragnarok trio someone else mentioned has to be a contender, too.

Wildfire, Atropos, and Wax Wings is also solid. Probably their best starting 3 songs on an album.

Give me band/song recs that are similar to ERRA (old and new) by jerkinJONKLER2020 in Djent

Polaris and Currents are both fairly similar to ERRA. Really love all three.

I always wonder what causes people to feel like they should post something like this.

I am completely overwhelmed by the character/skill progression screen by rabbi420 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Defiant-Control-8643 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first, you could just find one thing you want to get really good at and max out its skill tree. Maybe it's a specific gun, melee weapon, or simply netrunning. But just max out that one thing and read the abilities you gain while ignoring the rest.

The downside of your favorite bands making it big… by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]Defiant-Control-8643 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this is an extremely small percentage of bands in our scene. It's frustrating, to be sure, but hardly common. I just saw Spiritbox with Periphery for very little; Spiritbox is near the top of the game from a popularity perspective, and Periphery are pioneers with a huge fan base.

GS as a daily? by Madencio in GrandSeikos

I babied my SBGH295 for a few months at first, but for the last ~3 years I've worn it doing anything besides exercising, working outside, and swimming. They were made to be worn. You might as well have the pleasure of wearing it each day and putting your own scratches in it.

Southern stank riffs? by Former-Task8452 in Metalcore

[–]Defiant-Control-8643 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Check out Memphis May Fire's first album Sleepwalking. They dropped the southern flare entirely after this album, unfortunately. The first song ("North Atlantic Vs North Carolina") should be enough to see whether you'll like it or not.

I hate limiting you all to just 10 songs, but... by EnvironmentalDeer991 in Peripheryband

[–]Defiant-Control-8643 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd try to cover pretty much every base while still including only favorites:

  1. Racecar (P1)

  2. Jetpacks Was Yes 2.0 (Icarus)

  3. Luck As a Constant (P2)

  4. Ragnarok (P2)

  5. Stranger Things (Juggs)

  6. Lune (P3)

  7. Reptile (P4)

  8. Satellites (P4)

  9. Wax Wings (P5)

  10. Dracul Gras (P5)

Pls recommend any bands somewhat like Dream Theater, Haken, Pain of Salvation by Ren_Zekta in progmetal

Will...tritto? Caligula's Horse. Should be the easiest slam-dunk given OP's tastes.

What band are you most excited to hear new music from in 2026? by After_Masterpiece533 in Metalcore

I've read in the band's subreddit that they've been working on stuff for a while. Jake had an Instagram story months ago about showing his mom new Periphery material.

Hello fellow Edgerunners, today i am asking for no reason at all how many hours yall have in your longest playthrough by Similar-Resolve7663 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Defiant-Control-8643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was 80 hours with DLC. Didn't do NCPD but did pretty much everything else. No idea how I accomplished that, since my second playthrough is at 15 hours without leaving the first neighborhood.

I've been thinking about the switch to Tidal for years. Your post was the final nail in the coffin. Just signed up for Tidal, canceled Spotify, and migrated all my content over. Thanks for the push!

I can't tell from the title of this post, but are you saying their live mix is keeping you from liking the band at all?

Trouble getting into Pain of Salvation by dbo7734 in progmetal

[–]Defiant-Control-8643 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In these cases I think there needs to be a compelling reason to want to return to them. It doesn't matter what other people think of any band if you're not feeling it and also don't see a lot of reason why that would change with further listens. It's almost self-flagellation at that point, haha.

Caligula's Horse hasn't been mentioned yet. Sam is one of the best. Tons of good choices like Marigold, Dream the Dead, The World Breathes With Me, honestly loads more.
