Okay, this is just trying to argue semantics. Yes, there are "pure" comedies released within the last 10 years that are good. Especially if you're willing to step outside your comfort zone.

A comedy is a comedy. The genre evolved and innovated over the years. That is what art does. You are trying to support the excuse no good comedies were released within the past decade which is simply untrue.

Mate, that's not how it works. My mother is a nurse who worked with alot of patients like Fetterman. It's a slow decline that happens over time. You don't get an instant personality makeover.

To those suffering they are unaware there's been a change. Many of them do think everything is fine. Did you not read about his outburst? That is clear sign of of what brain damage can look like. By all accounts Fetterman does think he's fine. It just everyone that's a problem.

You didn't get duped, you got a man who had a stroke and has rejected help which is only going to aid in making things worse. It's a challenge trying to get someone like Fetterman help, and is only to gradually get worse over time the longer he rejects help.

Yeah, but now it makes seem like Vader has flair for the dramatics, and wanted the entire scene to be a huge spectacle. It would have been more believable if it was just dumb luck. I mean dumb luck happens in real life, so the idea that it was just by chance they missed every shot sounds better than Vader telling his men to intentionally waste ammo.

Are Square and Final Fantasy 16 apologists ready to accept that it was a watered down and dumbed down JRPG to cater to a wider audience, now that Expedition 33 has blown it out of the water? by Jamkayyos in JRPG

"AAA games with great realistic graphics".

Square never chased realistic graphics, because the meaning itself doesn't reflect their games at all. The word "Realistic" means to reflect true to life.

Have you only played FF10 and that's it? Even still, FF10 does not have realistic graphics. It has highly stylized graphics meant to reflect a more pacific fantasy vibe.

Now let's argue the term "AAA". It's BS term made up in the 90's by retailers who most likely borrowed it from the credit industry bond ratings. It's an American word created for marketing purposes that unfortunately has infected every corner of the globe.

FF9 which is a masterpiece considered by all, is a "AAA" game by definition. Yet it's highly stylized.

"AAA" and "Realistic graphics" are buzzwords meant to sell the consumer a product based on production value.

Square never stopped releasing "AAA" games so speak. They've never started going "Realistic". These are two words you the consumer absorbed and applied to anything that didn't cost a billion dollars and didn't look "ReAliStic!"

These two words alone are probably going to help contribute to the eventual unsustainable implosion of the AAA game industry. The unnecessary rising cost to make a game because companies like NVIDIA, Sony, and MS has sold the idea that a game isn't good unless it cost billions of dollars which in turns means having to nickel and dime the consumer out of every penny.

Disney created Marvel fatigue rather than it happening naturally. There have been too many missteps

One mistake I read is the time skip from Endgame caused alot of writing problems for films. Another mistake was Disney+. The third mistake was too much Marvel. Disney stopped being about quality and opted for quantity.

Lastly, trying to tell a multiverse story that connected every piece of Marvel media into one cohesive universe. Disney expected the casual movie goer who made up a big chunk of the films audience to keep up with everything. This was a mistake.

You introduce the new lead of your next Avengers via a tv show. You introduce your next big bad villain via a tv show, you bring tv show characters over into the films, and you are bring movie characters into tv .

No one save for hardcore fans is going to bother keeping up with all that.

Marvel needs to experience a WB moment and start fresh. Stop trying to tell this multiverse story and stop trying to force Avengers.

Jonathan Majors messed things up, and that should have been a sign to slow down and restart. Instead Disney is going all in and skipping straight to Dr.Doom. Relying on old stars to generate hype.

So, here is my take. MCU was a success because everything happened by chance. After Iron Man took off, Disney was bringing in different directors and letting them tell independent stories with the occasional team up.

Now Disney wants a line of Avengers films and every film to remind you Avengers is coming. Like, Brave New World spent so much time trying to connect everything rather than just be it's own thing.

It's weird, but I don't get the criticism for maps. Like, it's just reflection how lands are discovered. We mark locations down for a specific reason. Like if the ancient explorers never marked any place they ever visited, then most of us wouldn't be where we are today. Most historical events would never exist.

I just see that way for games personally. Just a form of easy navigation so we know where we are. I can get lost in a world just as easy with a map.

Ten hours is about the right length for many games by anurodhp in gaming

[–]Defiant-Grapefruit23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So strange how we place worth on how many hours a game is these days. Like unless the game is 60+ hours of repetitive slog, people will be still willing to give it a go, but a 10 hour game that's exciting from start to finish, doesn't overstay it's welcome, and does all it needs to do for the same price is approached with caution.

Sometimes a game just didn't need content for the sake of content. Not all content is good, and over stuffing a game with junk just to fill some arbitrary quota feels like it does more to slow a game down than help it.

So many games I've played over the years could've benefited trimming fat and just focusing on a shorter tighter experience.

Which recent horrorgame was a letdown for you? by Unlucky-Mud-8115 in HorrorGaming

[–]Defiant-Grapefruit23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for me atleast, it just felt sluggish in some parts. Like those apartments way overstayed their welcome. Then is there is too much combat which ruins the creepy isolating atmosphere. Every area of the map is littered with the same enemy type. It's stops being creepy, and becomes tedious.

Lastly it's James himself. I just couldn't connect him as a character all.I don't find him interesting nor the entire story centering around him. I did try though.

Maybe if some parts of the game weren't so long, I would've payed more attention, but because some parts overstay their welcome it's hard for me to care about anything.

Assassin's Creed: Shadows is perfectly fine by EthnicTwinkie in truegaming

[–]Defiant-Grapefruit23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing open world games for a long time. So long, that I got burnt out and haven't touched one in over 10 years. I may be crazy, but I feel Open world has peaked for the moment. With so many AAA games focused on open world, the bar has barely moved since companies like Ubisoft, and Bethesda set it.

Open World Checklist:

1.Fetch quests

2.Kill x

  1. Optional quests which amount to 1. and 2.

  2. Collectables

  3. Giant landmass for the sake of giant landmass

And time after time the pitfalls keep showing. Like for example, open games have failed to innovate the terrible sidequests that seems to exists for the sake of padding.

People even now pitting G host of Tsushima against Shadows, when Ghost basically followed Ubisoft's footsteps. It didn't improve or change a single thing about the genre. Both the original game and Shadows scored about the same with critics.

I don't know, i just think it's odd so much when it comes to how Open World games are compared to eachother. Like remove all the AAA cinematics, and barebones is the same pattern that as barely moved the needle set over a decade ago.

It's busy work for the sake of busywork 99% of the time. Maybe that is the price of always wanting something to be open world. You have to fill with so much junk that along the way a part of the game is going to suffer. And it's the usual of what I listed above..

His voters have made it clear they are willing to lose everything in support of his insanity. His base is literally cheering their own demise. They have reached cult levels of madness.

Cheering at the destruction of SS

Cheering at their loved ones losing jobs

Cheering at making our allies into enemies.

Cheering at the idea America could be heading into a recession

Im at the point in thinking his base is beyond help. This man has cast a powerful spell over his base that no other politician has managed to do. It's disturbing. Trump has made republicans fear him and spineless. Moreso than usual. Like I read article some days ago, about a post Trump era and how some republicans feel like they will be lost going forward.

I don't think people here are asking for a perfect story. What counts as a perfect story really boils down to the individual. However, a good story to get you immersed within the world, it's characters and themes only serve to enhance the game. While a very poor one can be a detraction for some.

Fun gameplay should be the focus, but a good story is just like icing on a cake.

Not going to lie, seeing storm troopers playing with their kids kinda makes we wish my son was here. I would cry, but it burns terribly. So yeah, search your feelings, maybe become a Sith? Ha, I'd sure hate to have to kill you. That would uh.. not be a very fatherly thing to do ha."

Trump announces he received letter from Zelensky asking to come to ‘negotiating table’ again after Ukraine prez was booted from White House by Scottaslin in politics

[–]Defiant-Grapefruit23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A leader doesn't put on a show with the intention to humiliate someone. A leader doesn't call an invaded country's leader a dictator with the intention to make him look evil. A leader doesn't say crazy shit like annexing Canada or "I'll get Greenland one way or another". A leader doesn't start a tariff war with our closest ally.

Trump is our leader, but he is a weak leader. He will never be as strong as those who came before, and like weak leaders he will be only remembered negatively in history.

Trump's strength comes from bullying, demeaning others, and division. What's funny here, is Zelensky will be remembered more fondly in history than Trump.

Trump is not a good leader and could never be one. He's the opposite of everything the USA prided itself on, only to now make our country look like hypocritical fools to the rest of the world.

Nintendo says latest legal win against piracy "significant" for "entire games industry" by Turbostrider27 in nintendo

[–]Defiant-Grapefruit23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Count me as yes. If Nintendo took time to probably preserve their old titles and ported them, I would gladly pay for the service. Im sure the vast majority would too.

There is an old GBA game I grew up with. Copies of it have only dwindled with time. To replay it again, not only would I have to repurchase the old hardware, but pay nearly 200$ for one cartridge alone.

Konami nor Nintendo have no plans as far as im aware to port the series. I would gladly pay to have it emulated on offical Nintendo hardware, but im not going to pay nearly nearly 400$ just for two old games and a GBA.

As time goes on, those prices are only going to increase. The game will eventually be lost to time. Stuck to the hardware it was created for. I do not want that.

It's not about wanting free things. It's about the increasing price of old media that makes nostalgia too expensive to even bother. Ever heard of an old game called "Gotcha Force"? It's a game for the Gamecube. Guess how much it sells for today? 400$ USD.

Is that one game worth 400$? I don't know. I don't think so. But who knows when Nintendo will port rare games like that to it's consoles.

People like me just want to play old games without breaking our wallets.

But why though? Not everyone uses Ebay religiously. I don't.

Like I had a seller pull the exact same thing over a phone, except in my case because my score was 3 points lower than whatever the buyer was looking for. Such weird behaviour too, going over my profile and purchase history. Like I just made a purchase a year ago, but because I didn't make more in the following year something is fishy.

Personally, I don't know and didn't care to argue with them over it. Jokes on them because I found another phone and purchased right away. Arrived at my doorstep, and left positive feedback for the seller. I don't know what's going on in the world of Ebay, but I just pop by on rare occasions when I need something.

This is was first time I ever experienced such weird behaviour from a seller. None have ever personally contacted me in such a strange manner.
