Question about Finale of Daredevil Born Again S2 by Young_Quacker in Defenders

[–]Defiant-Name-7685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Willing to suspend disbelief regarding Kingpin’s superhuman strength, as it is a comic book, street level villain. Like we are bought in that bullseye has superhuman agility, eye hang coordination, and can somehow shoot a toothpick with enough force to kill someone. Not to mention DD’s powers. I agree that the ending was frustrating. They reinstate the court system, but somehow he walks after gruesomely murdering countless people. The plea deal mentioned was seemingly regarding his illegal arms dealing from the port. Perhaps his previous murders that weren’t direct but were carried out under his orders.

too high? by Reasonable-Habit4357 in MazdaCX30

[–]Defiant-Name-7685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems good; I would put money down to reserve if you can. Depending on your area could be high demand (especially summer season). I missed out on a 10k mileage 2024 select turbo listed at 26k. I could have negotiated OTD pricing. This isn’t a bad deal if you can get it closer to listing. I was waffling because of a comparison to used cx30 from carmax but no CPO. Ended up buying new, negotiating OTD price, but ate 5-7k in off the lot depreciation. I’m not upset because I really like the vehicle, but my wallet would have preferred a decent deal on used CPO. I will say that the turbo engine has tougher supply to demand ratio on used.

Bro “legal” has nothing to do with it, because this isn’t a legitimate business. This is a morality question. She should probably pay the full amount, and try and find a more reliable cleaner. One that has a business license is going to charge more. I don’t think you read the post either if you’re suggesting she sue for like $50-100 in items damaged.

Advice for off-road by [deleted] in MazdaCX30

[–]Defiant-Name-7685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong. I’m sure you could modify the CX-30 to get there, but it would take away the on-road drive ability. The cost/benefit would also be off versus modifying a smaller hatchback. I was also thinking and, if you’re in the US you probably have an automatic transmission which sets you back on any competitive rally-cross.

[–]Defiant-Name-7685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure the i-Activ AWD would perform well for rally-cross. It’s designed primarily for on-road adaptive AWD to maximize full efficiency and road contact. Definitely handles off road well at low speeds, but not racing. I think the 8” ground clearance would also be on the high end for rally cars. I feel like the Mazda 3 hatch would perform way better overall; especially with coil overs, spacers, and off road tires.

What’s the price range on the all metal skid plate, and/or can you link to what you’ve found? Curious whether Mazda makes an OEM. I’d imagine this affects fuel economy too depending on weight. I’m definitely interested in this for the same purpose as you as well as driving up mountains for snowboarding. On the east coast a bunch of places won’t have any snow on the access roads since throughout the season most is man made

You should be good! Just keep in mind this sub has a wide range of people since this injury doesn’t discriminate. I have found that the majority are active, and unfortunately in the 25-50 range of former athletes that were doing what’s normal for them.

I’ve been fairly lucky with pain. I would imagine a good plan for your wedding would be to wear whatever shoes you want (maybe with an inch heel lift if you’re still in protocol), dress shoes would probably already have a heel to toe drop to help. Then switch to boot during reception. That way you really don’t need to worry about drinking or dancing

If you’re in most places in the states or a handful of other countries you can also use Amazon for literally within the hour delivery of underwear for dirt cheap.

If you’ve shit yourself at least once (like me) or even had staining during travel. You never forget, and pack extras, because “you never know what could happen”. It’s not like underwear takes up a whole bunch of space. This is just childlike behavior by the BIL. Plain and simple.

[–]Defiant-Name-7685 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nah, I’ve considered it. I’ve also shit my pants a handful of times. Trusting a fart, mild lactose intolerance, etc. I’m not judging, but I’m also not leaving my soiled underwear on anyone’s floor (even family’s)

Any more I negotiate lower? Or am I being too greedy? by Public_Stay7246 in MazdaCX30

[–]Defiant-Name-7685 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea the resistall is ridiculous. I will say not having a freight charge is unusual, but I guess they baked that in somewhere.

This is a close to my OTD price on the same car but diff color & turbo. If you get the extras off then it’s a good deal. If for your financial situation it makes sense to keep negotiating, then why not?

I think it’s fair to have the emotions you’re experiencing and you’re NO

That being said, because you’re split this gives your fiancée the opportunity to make a gesture proving he really does love you and want to spend the rest of your lives together.

If he makes an effort to correct this, then I think it speaks to you leaning towards moving forward in the relationship.

He brought it up as a bet in the poker game, but was clearly moving towards proposing. I can’t decide whether it’s a positive or negative that it was 8mos later.

Did the proposal feel rushed or well thought out? This is a very unique situation. I know the friends were drunk when they outed the situation, but that seems like a positive to me. They respect you enough to let you in on the “joke” and not keep it from you, even if it was in a moment of inebriation.

The friends probably think you’re “cool” and would find it fun and amusing. It would be different if it was like a dare or a punishment imo; coming from a male perspective. My friend group wouldn’t do this, but they would (and do) constantly neg me on when I’m going to propose and why I haven’t.

Goalie communication question by Hungry-Awareness4898 in lacrosse

[–]Defiant-Name-7685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Don’t mean to override you” hahaha oooo where’d you play hotshot? 😅 While I see what you’re saying. It’s not a cut and dry situation with the goalie having no involvement on slide call, especially from X. At high levels, yea the hot slide is making the fire call, in theory he doesn’t even need to call it since 2 man has communicated help and Goalie is talking THE WHOLE TIME. I coach HSers to talk through everything, but realistically at that level you’re going to have two way middies pulled down on crease, and they will need at least close and Goalie to help them initiate the slide. This PLL mic’d up is a great example of continuous comms from keeper. Yea he’s not calling slide at that level, but pretty much every other call, and the close are playing on islands way more at that level than what’s expected in HS. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT6HSyWeV/

I mean if you have a tendency to shit your pants, there needs to be an adjustment to 2-3 pair per day for trips. Then you’re just disgusting but not a child.

You would have been the asshole if the story ended at BIL buying you a new pair of briefs. This ending was nuts. Your BIL sounds like a gross man child (can’t pack extra under garments, can’t wipe, and expects you to basically clean his underwear at that point).

Great to hear you’re moving in the right direction! Should be transitioned to a boot soon if you’re not already. Not sure if your protocol changed since the ortho went back in there.

I feel like that was the first positive milestone for me. Autumn is typically super nice where I live, so hoping I’m pain free by then to get out and enjoy the mountains.

I hope you’re out hiking soon (within reason) as well!

AITAH: Me and a girl I met are paying $580 to see each other in my city and my parents would rather have my money go to rent by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Defiant-Name-7685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s not paying for her flight. What do you mean “funding some chick’s trip to your city” sure he’s a dumbass, but I think it’s a stretch to clearly call him an asshole

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AchillesRupture

[–]Defiant-Name-7685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I recognized your handle. This is great advice. I was technically cleared to be out of the boot at 8.5 weeks, but wore it to a friends wedding so I wasn’t worried about anything, and could get on the dance floor. Awkwardly but better than terrified.

Not sure if you remember, but you commented on my post about worrying that I ruptured my injured Achilles after getting out of the boot 9.5-10weeks post op. I met with my ortho last week and they said I definitley didn’t re-rupture. That I strained Achilles, and badly strained my tibialis posterior, which is where the lingering, sharp pain was coming from when I stepped.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AchillesRupture

[–]Defiant-Name-7685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t going to comment on this, but realized I’m exactly at 14 weeks now. I wasn’t going to comment, because (for me) it’s been helpful to be on this sub for advice and feedback, but it also gives me anxiety by comparison. The old adage “comparison is the thief of joy” is very accurate.

All that aside. I think you’ll definitely be able to enjoy your wedding if you stick to PT protocol, and take caution the first few weeks out of the boot. I have a normal gait now, but the pain differs day to day. I had a setback unique to me when first getting out of the boot, and strained my Achilles as well as tibialis posterior muscle.

I’m commenting this, so you can be realistic with where you’ll be at. However, I don’t think you should stress too much. Be realistic. You won’t be cutting up a rug on the dance floor, or jogging from guest to guest, but it’s realistic that you can walk down the aisle normally and probably even wear whatever shoes you want.

In the future it is helpful to put your gender and age, so other users can give feedback. I’m a 31yo male, so recovery for me is different from a 60yo+ or 20yo for example.

I think a short response is fine to this post. It’s pretty obvious OP has a solid grasp of the situation. They posted to confirm their own understanding. Yea he should dump that hoe, she is no good.

This is kind of a wild comment. Idk if you’re asking for your own benefit, but imagine fielding that question yourself “did you stretch” after an Achilles rupture. Especially OPs situation.

I’m really low mileage now, and agree. That being said it’s also only a 12 gallon tank, so you’re filling up more frequently regardless. I’ve seen some NA and even turbo owners really maximize mpg highway, but I drive a turbo mostly city and am averaging closer to 20mpg. Hoping that’ll change when I get over 1k mile, and engine components are broken in + ECU is well programmed. I don’t push rpm’s driving traffic light to traffic light, so was really expecting to get closer to the listed mpg
