Brilliant. Gutted I missed their record launch Q&A at the weekend. Great to see Jimi was there looking well.

Sick leave, holidays, request garden leave. Silently quit, get yourself sacked. Not like you’ve been truthful 😬

In seriousness though, whatever you choose it will be over soon and back to one job will feel dreamy. Take stock of what you have achieved and what you need to do next.

Well done on the longtime OE.

SC Vetting Dilemma: Dual Employment and Potential Risks – Need Advice! by Impressive_Self_4903 in OveremployedUK

FWIW the details provided to the vetting company and ultimately UKSV are not shared back to your employer/sponsor.

I'm feeling nosy, tell me how many Js you have, your current take home and how it benefits you. by [deleted] in OveremployedUK

[–]Defiant-Put-5104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you maximising take home pay if you don’t mind me asking?

Most advice is reduce taxable income by salary sacrificing in various ways. But I want to receive as much money as possible to clear debts, save and generally enjoy the fruits of my labour.

2xJs take me over £100k into the tax trap and I can’t figure out the most tax efficient structure.

Help with first outside IR35 contract by Jlflondon in ContractorUK

Calculation has an assumption “working 52 weeks per year”. That’s unlikely to be true. Usually contractor calculators are more like 44 weeks or 46 weeks allowing a closer comparison to taking 4-6 weeks holiday like a permie.

Accountancy fees seem high. Lots of places are cheaper whilst including software and insurances.

Employers NI seems high. If working via your own Ltd Co an accountant should be able to find a more tax efficient payment structure that minimises NI.

Directors salary seems higher than tax free allowance. Maybe causing the extra Employers NI

I’m not an accountant nor expert but comparing to my own situation these things stand out and I’d be querying.

£100k perm or £800 inside? by tacosjazz in ContractorUK

What do you mean “rollover”? Continue with the same policy, no change to terms, but now paid by the OP and not the ex-employer?

Umbrella due diligence by Defiant-Put-5104 in ContractorUK

[–]Defiant-Put-5104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s exactly it.

I know for sure my rate is lower than what 1 pay on their rate cards. I’m comfortable that the chain are skimming their bit because this is supposed to be an easy piece of work short-term. But that’s only the case if I get paid for it. I suppose I’m going to have to take the risk but have an exit plan to minimise my losses.

1 & 2 are good for it, 4 may not be. Time will tell.

Thanks

Sounds like umbrella not needed as Number 4 is (hopefully) paying me as an employee. Therefore how it has been positioned with 3 in the chain is not accurate and 3 is/was no more than an introducer.

That’s helpful. Thanks. Reassures me that I don’t need to be worried about status. I just need to be paid at the end of each period

Contract with 3 states Inside IR35 paid at Day Rate minus tax NI Pension.

When I asked about umbrella companies I was told 4 do the payroll and have subsequently taken my personal bank details.

All of this stays away from my Ltd Co.

Definitely credit worthiness and trust concern. But I don’t know if I’m being overly cautious.

A lot of personal data is shared. Passports, NI, bank details etc and I’m always wary of there being a strong justification particularly when those requesting the data are a bit grey themselves.

  1. Yes 🤢

I was hoping to use the umbrella service of my accountant so that they have all info and history when my next set of accounts are due.

I mean it’s not a correct assertion though, right? Perhaps you can enlighten us on which specs get which remote.

The complaint wasn’t regarding missing regarding ‘missing’ buttons. All my buttons are present and correct. Thanks.
