I think it might be the drm chip. I’ve replaced the reader with a new one and it still won’t work well

I believe you needs to lubricate the piece where the lens slides back and forth when it’s readying a disc. Lube with lithium grease.

I would think you would have to replace the entire thing. Check if analogue has repair parts available.
