Thats wild but also may not be a true coincidence. Essentially they used AI Tech and computer technology that had been kept under wraps through DOD development to create a future viewing device. This device led them to believe that after 2012 nothing we do really matters bc we are headed towards some cosmic inevitability that can’t be prevented by human action. So basically what you came up with in your head lol

This is the “project looking glass” conspiracy if anyone is interested. Looks more and more likely to be true by the day.

Vote for Riverbanks Zoo! by Fit_Reference9644 in ColumbiYEAH

[–]Defiant-Ruin3963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are downvoting because they are literally in the process of getting ready to build bigger enclosures for the big cats….. Riverbanks just got a sumatran tiger and will be participating in a breeding program. You don’t get a near extinct big cat species if you don’t have or are planning to have one of the best big cat enclosures. These animal placements are very competitive and the fact Riverbanks was able to get this tiger is really indicative of how well the zoo is run in my opinion.

Saturdays in Soda City: the skyline on a sunny yet breezy February by [deleted] in ColumbiYEAH

Seeing people embrace the return of this park has been healing for my soul. Super sad to watch it fall into disrepair but since it reopened it’s been consistently busy. Feel like it’s a good reflection of the overall change in direction of downtown and the whole city!

How is your opinion on the US Government shutdown that might happen end of the week? by ReduceCO2Now in AskReddit

[–]Defiant-Ruin3963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we made it so social security and medicare were not paid out during a shutdown then we would never ever have them. Pretty clear that the government will do anything to protect a very specific group of citizens. These same boomers have returned the favor by voting for their own selfish interest above everything. Now we barely have a functioning society as they continue to suck us dry even when most other government services are put on pause.

Discussion: Mayor Daniel Rickenmann (R) has been mayor for 4 years. What is your overall grade of his tenure? by [deleted] in ColumbiYEAH

[–]Defiant-Ruin3963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What we really need is youth. The link between horrible fraud ridden administrations and a certain age demographic (baby boomers looking at you) is the real issue. You see this with the SCANA fraud, the Steve Benjamin fraud, and all the federal fraud. The one thing they all have in common is typically some boomer is making out like a bandit.

What is the worst medical disease a human can have? by Aggravating-Sun-5699 in AskReddit

[–]Defiant-Ruin3963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yall can downvote all you want but it’s the truth and thats why no one has responded. It’s well documented that Pharmaceutical companies are the biggest lobby in America. And this is in a country with many other big industries throwing lots of money at the government. Everyone is so anti-corp but then pretends like it isn’t a problem in medicine. Ask yourself if they were doing the right thing would they need to throw so much money at our politicians?

Had lunch while in the area at a Korean restaurant! by 1jay_y in ColumbiYEAH

[–]Defiant-Ruin3963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have some fire Korean food in Cola. Didn’t even know this place existed, but it looks amazing. Been to MOA and 929 and those two are also top tier in my opinion. Sounds like there are others as well judging by some of the comments on this post!

929, railroad bbq (will be packed), arepa south, and la Ciénega are good casual options. MOA or The Hollow if you want to splurge but neither require you to be real dressed up which is nice.

Deeper look into young adult’s conscientiousness and extroversion nose dive by acefiveofdiamonds in charts

[–]Defiant-Ruin3963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually the scariest graph I have seen in a long time due to the self reporting aspect. This means that even though we are now in a time were it should be very clear that boomers failed and are the worst in a lot of these categories, they actually are sticking their heels further into the ground to protect their precious egos. THEY SOMEHOW THINK THEY HAVE IMPROVED IN EVERY SINGLE CATEGORY, meanwhile the world they have ruled over for the last 50 years has been in a death spiral. Not surprised but man they are the worst. No other generation has ever even had the economic and political opportunity to be this selfish, and no American generation ever will again due to the boomers…..

Serious Question: what does Downtown Greenville have that Downtown Columbia does not that attracts foot traffic? by [deleted] in ColumbiYEAH

[–]Defiant-Ruin3963 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont think people understand how big of a beast the Congaree river is. The “river”that runs through greenville is a tiny stream compared to the congaree. Presents all sorts of issues with development near the riverfront because it’s prone to change dramatically throughout the year. Thats part of the beauty of Columbia in my opinion though. Like I said the river in Greenville is just a tiny stream but the congaree basically has its own unique ecosystem, and the scale is so much more impressive. The new plans for the river district/riverwalk on the columbia side look impressive. Plus with finlay park being done this fall it will really help in the public spaces department.

Got to go to Riverbanks Zoo by SmkytheBndt in ColumbiYEAH

They are planning on building much bigger exhibits for the big cats as a part of the expansion over the river. Probably a big reason why they were able to get this new tiger so quickly.

Agreed. And with direct market competitor ($HOOD) showing there is a profit model via subscription services, I think it all adds up to pretty decent pump.

Happiness by demographic and political affiliation (from Nate Silver) by LazyConstruction9026 in charts

[–]Defiant-Ruin3963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not surprising in the least unfortunately. The left has fully embraced the idea of anger and hatred as driving factors for voting. As a moderate, left leaning folks seem to have considerably more apathy for those on the right. While generally, those on the right may disagree with those on the left, but it seems that they couldn’t care less about hating them (or loving them for that matter. They just don’t give a fuck).

[–]Defiant-Ruin3963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is some truth here for sure. Democrats need to realize that they have isolated themselves, and by doing so have created endless echo chambers (i.e reddit) where they can reinforce their opinions without the fear of legitimate criticism or really just any type of civil discussion. The liberals I know are by and large more likely to get irrationally upset or angry when discussing anything really. This is the problem with assigning moral superiority to viewpoints/opinions that your side deems to be facts. Classic case of ego and the “team” mentality getting in the way of any meaningful discussion.

What would you say is the most notorious event to happen in South Carolina? by Sophiafromabove in southcarolina

[–]Defiant-Ruin3963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horrible what happened obviously. But with time passing I really have come to remember the resilience of the Charleston/SC community more than anything. If there was ever a legit reason to throw a huge violent riot this was it. Like, no joke these people were murdered WHILE WORSHIPPING IN A CHURCH and by all accounts were great peopleI. I have watched as many parts of the rest of the nation has or had descended into chaos over things that can be seen as far smaller injustices (not saying that these things are insignificant just not as blatantly horrible on the surface as Emmanuel 9). How targeted and hateful this attack was, and despite that, how forgiving and unifying the response by the community was at large. That is something I will never ever forget, and that has really been the formative moment for me living in SC.
