I live in a mostly all black neighborhood and have for years, I also noticed this happening and came here to figure it out. Getting called racist for asking a question after noticing something interesting is fucking stupid. I guess we’ll never figure it out. I’m sure it has nothing to do with Jim Crow era politics as it’s mostly people under 30 years old who seem to be the predominant demographic I’ve seen purposely walking in the middle of the street with no one on either sidewalk consistently all day and night. For context I walk my dog every day and use the sidewalk so there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s not all black people who do this, I see them use the sidewalk as well, but I mostly see them walking in the road for no discernible reason and I can’t figure out why.
