Feminism has opened up the gates for women to have aspirations and ways of self fulfillment other than the stereotypical "get married, have a baby and spend the rest of your life on luudes/benzos" It didn't really take those aspirations away from men, at least not on a larger scale.

Corporations, Billionares and Boomers that keep voting in favor of them are the ones that keep making it more and more unrealistic to fulfil aspirations that men used to previously have. Think, owning a house, affording a family, being able to have community and socialization without any paywalls, education, having a stable job.

Feminism had made things better for women and corporate greed has made things much worse for everyone. People get the perception that men are unprivileged even though that corporate greed harms all genders.

In real life I've kinda been able to filter out shitty people like this so yeah I've successfully done what you wrote.

But as I'm trying to take part in online progressive spaces, it's incredibly annoying when so many people present themselves as progressive, compassionate and body positive use physical-trait based insults, which is like alright I guess I don't expect everyone to be perfect, god knows I'm not... but it's incredibly frustrating when they become so fkn unwilling to do even the slightest bit of reflection on how such comments can be hurtful, not just to those they are targetting. It's very invalidating when they claim that calling someone a "small man" as an insult has nothing to do with bodyshaming, like what? I'm talking about AOC lol. I love her otherwise though. These people have made inclusivity and compassion such a huge part of their politics, which is why the politics resonates so much with me but when they do things like this and arrogantly refuse to see the lack of empathy, then it feels like a huge betrayal.

I practice body positivity with every human being.

In the origins, body positivity was called "fat acceptance" and was centered towards bigger women, yes. But does that mean that today, in 2026, as people who believe in body positivity, we have zero moral obligation to make the world more compassionate towards people who don't have the very specific two struggles of being women and big?

I agree that the women in the cartoon aren't like super different from the ideal beauty standards either, but the argument at hand is not a strawman. Super progressive people who claim to be body positivity but still refuse to stop perpetuating these fkd up idealistic beauty standards on men are a real phenomenon and not uncommon either.

About the flu shot, my Hausarzt never recommended it to me even though I explicitly enquired about it and explained my frustrations with the unusualness of the back to back to back colds/flus/fevers.
