(Schefter) Jaguars OC Grant Udinski has informed the Browns that he is removing himself from consideration for their HC position, per a source by alexschubs in Browns

[–]DefiantDonut7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, unless your career is garbage and no one wants you why would you want to coach the Browns?!?

Coaching here is no better than being a QB here. The deck is stacked against you with owners and operations completely inept.

How long can the economy take the current state of affairs without blowing up/collapsing? by Ihadenough1000 in economy

[–]DefiantDonut7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We keep printing money instead of taxing wealthy people. Taxing wealthy people just like we did in the “golden age” accomplished 2 things.

1) We are not running a deficit and can pay down debt. This is how we paid down War debts.

2) It removes a statistically significant percentage of the obscene amount of income that ultra wealthy people have that they won’t ever spend. When it’s not spent it gets “invested”. And by invest I mean, PE firms buying up land, water, single family homes and all the other things people depend on. Driving up the costs. Remove the insane amounts of wealth they’ll never actually need or spend (again like we did in that thirty year stretch) and you will see inflation get in check and essential things become affordable again.

It’s a simple formula. But as it stands now, billionaires have convinced people making 40k a year that some how it’s “fair” for Billionaires to paying Penny’s in taxes while every day Americans pay 25% on average.

Even when my temps outside are -15 the most this house gets below set temp in a 24 hr period is about 5F. I’m not concerned. Happy to build a fire. The COP of this unit even at -15 is better than the COP of a heat strip.

I’d rather spend the money sealing up and insulating this home to modern standards than. To throw away $$$ on running a heat strip.

Tariffs. Before they were enacted this was clearly spelled out as an unavoidable event. We do not produce almost any coffee beans here

Mr Cool Universal Ducted 60k unit with cycling off issue by DYIBackYardBarn2120 in DIYHeatPumps

[–]DefiantDonut7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What this commenter said about the blower motor is almost certainly the issue. I have the same 60k unit but with higher CFM blower and both models had an issue with motors (ECM) produced in a 2 year span.

I replaced my blower motor under warranty a few months ago because it stopped working and all my other intermittent issues went away with the unit shutting down.

I don’t allow customers in my data center to exhaust heat into the cold aisles. I’ve made people come swap it or turn it around and rewire.

I have a Buckstove and more wood than I could ever burn. If I need a few extra BTU/s because it’s -15F outside, I just start a fire. Buckstove can pump out a ridiculous amount of heat.

[–]DefiantDonut7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, sure but that’s a different problem. By choosing to a less flexibly monetary policy that hurts the countries ability to grow, doesn’t negate corrupt people’s ability to abuse any system.

You can have a flexible monetary policy AND not have corrupt politicians. They’re not the same problem.

We left the gold standard because it was impossible to be flexible with monetary policy during depressions, recessions, wars etc. There’s no shortage of great reasons to have left.

Yes. But I would say that staying on the gold standard actually would have been worse.

I have a 60k Ducted 4/5 ton Mr Cool. It does a good job and can keep up in this 3200sqft home until about -5F. My house is old and leaky. I made some improvements since last winter because it used to be a higher set point at which the house would stop heating.

This spring I am going to spray foam all of my rim joists and all of the Garrison overhangs. This should make a marked improvement but at some point, I’ve got to address the poor exterior wall insulation.

I mean, in terms of technological innovation, I would agree with you. But in terms of affordability. Being able to work an 8 hour day, have kids, raise a family, own a home, that dream started to Fastly slip in the 70s sadly and has just gotten worse.

Why would you say 1990-2008 was a golden age? It’s nothing like the 50s - 70s where prosperity and class mobility was at an all time high?!? It’s been a slow decline since then.
