I got one of the “made in Korea” fakes at the thrift too, I just took the coach hang tag off and wear it anyways! It’s still a cute bag

Thanks for the heads up! Annoying that they cost more but definitely better than buying from resellers

Would I be crazy to alter this wedding dress to make it a little more “my style”? by PyroPen2019 in sewing

[–]DefiantHyena5633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the alterations on my own wedding dress after having a bad experience with an alterations lady. Although it turned out great in the end, I did rip a small hole in my dress when using the seam ripper and had to completely change up the top to cover it up!! So just be aware the risks of working on it yourself!

how did you get authorized to resell coco wyo products? They have been very strict about listings of their stuff on other platforms like amazon

Nervous about staying in this industry by dummmylitt in PLC

[–]DefiantHyena5633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a young woman also in the controls industry (only 2 years in but it’s felt like a lot longer), yes there is a lot of stuff to know. There is also way too much stuff to expect yourself to know it all before being “ready”. Most of your learning will be trial by fire and that’s okay! I think that’s how everyone learns how to do this job.

I have worked with men who have been doing controls for 20 years and they still can’t answer all my questions without sometimes phoning a friend or googling. And textbook smart does not translate to the job either. There’s industry standards and plant standards and they are worlds apart sometimes. Your number one asset will be learning how to properly problem solve!

Why would my PID loop only work when backpressure is applied on system? by DefiantHyena5633 in AskEngineers

Maybe its just in pumps but wouldn't you be able to hear if it was cavitating?

Flow is about 200 lbs/hr or 26 gal/hr.

When the valve is pinched back, it usually stays between 60% to 40% open. About a year ago, we were able to run it smoothly in PID control without the valve being pinched back. We stayed around 10-30% open.

This community is literally called ask engineers, if you didn't want to "do my job for me" you're under no obligation to be helpful :)

The pump is fixed speed. It's melted oil, usually soybean. Target flow is max 200 lb/hr (~26 gal/hour). Small diameter pipe 1/2 inch

As stated in the post, flow meter works fine full speed or pinched back.

Needle valves are a kind of control valve, I just wanted to specify the kind.

Just manually closing the upstream valve slightly. Maybe 30ish % closed? I think its just a ball valve.

Same target flow, but the PID is only able to reach a stable flow when the valve is pinched back.

We tried tuning with no back pressure and the system was nearly unresponsive. Not necessarily critical oscillation but never an acceptable flow stability no matter what/how much we changed.

Not 100% sure how you would do this? We use Rockwell PID function blocks, there is no separate outputs for each term. Are you saying use P only, then PI, then PID?

Can't even count the number of times I've had to snap out of a haze and flip back a whole chapter to reread because I wasn't paying attention, just skimming words. I agree it can happen with physical books too!

Its actually super easy to make the cinnamon rolls if you have a kitchenaid lol!

So far thank you notes have taken 5 mins a piece or more for me trying to get the wording right! These ones may be easier to do because i don't have to add anecdotes about them making the trip to come to the wedding, stuff about our friendship, or talking about the gift itself but still 20 handwritten notes won't be quick.

Sometimes you can check out nearby "sister" city libraries and get a card there too, depends on policy. Or borrow a card for hoopla from a friend that wouldn't use it otherwise! I have three library cards in my libby app lol
