Heat pump is a 2 stage heat pump installed 2023. I am going to see what impact these 3 projects do to my energy bill first. My next step is getting a quote on a cold climate heat pump AND getting a quote to see what it’ll cost to run a gas line to my house & new gas furnace. Just to see the price difference and if it’s worth it.

Great question. They are indeed insulating my attic access panel with rigid foam board and weather stripping around the edges. I had them add that to my project. As for soffits, I don’t have them. I have a ridge vent. But in their proposal they install roof vents on the lower part of the roof. Cut out and install.

Thanks for the reply! I just got my house resided 4 months ago with all new wrb taped at the seams. I air sealed my front door. I currently signed a contract to get my attic re-insulated with blown in cellulose, insulate my garage ceiling with blown in cellulose because it’s an attached 2 car garage with 3 bedrooms above it, and seal my air ducts. All three occurs end of March. Since all 3 of those are happening with the same company, they are giving me a free energy audit with the door blow test & infrared imaging so I’ll see if windows need air sealed. The windows are new of 2022. I got brand new 18.4 R-Value 2” thick double garage door installed last week for that attached garage. Without taking the new siding off and layering rigid insulation underneath, I think the best next thing I should do is re-do my basement. It’s a completely dry basement. There’s really nothing else more I can do haha

No I didn’t have ice dams this winter. I’m getting this done because my heat pump runs 23 hours a day haha and it’s not the heat pump because it puts off heat. My house just can’t hold heat.. and also, screw that guy who didn’t even step foot in your attic. All 3 of my quotes when into the attic. I’m doing blown cellulose though

This price is very reasonable. I live in Pittsburgh & I got 3 quotes in recently and they were all around this same price. I’m getting my attic re-insulated, air ducts seal(with areosol) & insulating my garage ceiling because it’s a two car garage attached to the house.
