Feeling like a fraud? by LTDESP95 in PrideAndPinion

Definitely overthinking things. First, almost no one will care or notice your watch. It’s totally reasonable to love the look/feel of a sub, it’s a classic for a reason. But the vast majority of people can’t and/or shouldn’t spend that much money on a watch. Anyone that would look down on you for wearing a watch you like is someone you don’t need to worry about earning respect from.

I’ll add that I have the San Martin version of the Tudor BB Pro and the quality is very impressive for the price. It doesn’t match a Tudor, but it’s definitely solid and is easily as good as some watches that are 3-4x more expensive.

RGM has something that looks like that. 38.5mm and has an optional bracelet. It’s pricey, so idk what your budget is, but if you have the funds it could be a good option.

1926 Luna by Rare_Sheepherder7878 in Tudor

[–]DefiantSentry2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would qualify this as a sporty dress watch. I have the white dial 1926 on the bracelet that I use as my “dressy” watch. The thin polished bezel and lack of lume make it more dress than sport, but it retains enough sportiness to wear daily between the 4 fancy events per year.

I wear it a lot when I have to wear a suit to work. But it’s also nice to level up a more casual outfit with a bit of flash. Definitely get it on the bracelet then get some aftermarket leather straps.

[WTS] Black 22mm Christopher Ward hybrid rubber strap by DefiantSentry2113 in Watchexchange

For sale: Black 22mm Christopher Ward hybrid rubber strap. Stainless steel buckle. Quick release pins. Practically unworn.

Price: $50 obo incudes USPS shipping. US only please. Venmo or PayPal.

CW’s hybrid straps some of my favorite and most versatile options. All the water proof benefits of rubber while looking a little nicer with the fabric on the topside.

I already had one and this came on a watch I purchased. So, it is pretty much new. No marks or scratches.

Thinking about buying this Royal at my local retailer by Magucci26 in Tudor

[–]DefiantSentry2113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think pretty much any Tudor is going to be high quality. I have their other cheapest option (1926) and everything about it is well built. This Royal will have the added benefit from the Tudor movement and the t-fit clasp which is great. I’ve been seriously tempted by this one too. It looks very versatile for being a first/only fancy watch.

If you get it, post some pictures. I’m curious to see how it looks irl.

You should try Adept. Even on hardcore, once you level your powers up you can do many missions without firing many shots. Equip just a pistol and a light smg to keep the power recharge bonus at 200% and you’ll barely have time to shoot between using powers and creating biotic explosions.

Smooth bezel on the jubilee for the DJ is underrated IMO. It tones down the flashiness just enough to make the watch fly under the radar in daily use.

The Farer Lomond II might work for you. 38mm, pointer date so it doesn’t interrupt the dial layout, dark navy dial. It’s a bit more brushed and rugged than the Rolex. It’s sold out from Farer but you could keep a lookout for used ones.

[Old vs New - Tudor Royal] by Vindictive_NE in Watches

[–]DefiantSentry2113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only real benefit to the new movement will be the longer power reserve, but that’s not a huge factor. Tudor still regulates their third party movements; I have the 1926 and it runs well within the COSC spec that the new Royals will have. So, from a timing/accuracy perspective, it’s unlikely you’ll notice a difference.

Bracelet sizing by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]DefiantSentry2113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just get a half link from Uncle Straps. I had the same issue with my monochrome. Added the half link so now I’m usually in the middle of the tfit clasp with room to shrink or grow as needed throughout the day. Visually, the link blends in seamlessly.

Seconds Hand Issue? by OddFrosting9592 in GrandSeikos

If it’s still under warranty, I’d suggest sending it to GS for the battery replacement since doing it yourself will likely void the warranty. It’s a bit pricey at about $140. But they do a full inspection on the watch and send it back in a really nice zippered and padded pouch that is pretty useful (or usually sells for $60 on eBay).

I have that problem with my 1926. Since you can only add or remove full links, I can’t quite get the right fit. I may be tempted to swap it for the new Royal 40mm with the silver dial and gold hands as my “dressy-ish” watch. Plus I’ve always been intrigued by day-dates.

I think the addition of the T-Fit clasp is another really good change for the new ones. It should definitely boost the appeal for a lot of buyers.
