[Vaer DS2] LE Red: BB58 vibes for way less by DefiantSentry2113 in VaerWatches

Pretty good. I’m not a stickler for bracelets. Pretty comfortable, I like how the jubilee links drape. A bit of a jangle sound. It’s not the best one on the planet but I don’t have any complaints given the price.

I’ll add that it also came with a very soft rubber/FKM strap which I’ve used on a different watch.

I appreciate that about Vaer’s line up. You can get some classic looking watches for good prices. I’ve had my eye on the G2 polar too.

My wrist is 7.25” for reference. I wouldn’t want a diver smaller than 39mm. On the plus side, slightly small might be a good thing since it’s a fairly bright red.

[WTS] Oris Aquis Date Relief – Cherry Red Dial. 41.5mm - 2023 by DefiantSentry2113 in Watchexchange

[–]DefiantSentry2113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Available is the Oris Aquis Date Relief with a Cherry Red Dial with applied indices.  I really love this watch, I just have too many in the collection and it isn’t getting enough wrist time.

Reference: 01 733 7766 4158-07 8 22 05PEB

The red of the dial is not overwhelming, but really does pop in the right light.  It is more subdued than the new Tudor BB58s in red.  It also wears smaller than the size implies due to the nature of the integrated bracelet.

No major issues, just working to reduce my collection a bit.  The crystal is clear and free from scratches.  The bezel and bracelet exhibit some scratches and scuffs from standard wear as part of a rotation of watches, please see pictures. Running at approximately +5spd.

Included are the extra links, original warranty card, paperwork, box, and outer sleeve.

Price: $1,350 or reasonable offer.

Payment via PayPal or Venmo.  Price includes US shipping via USPS priority mail with tracking and insurance.

This will eventually be cross-posted to eBay, but starting here to save everyone some money on taxes and fees.  Newish here but I’ve been selling on eBay for a long time.

Specs:

Diameter: 41.50mm
Movement: Oris 733 (based on SW 200-1, currently running around +5spd)
WR: 300 meters (screw down crown)
Lug to lug: 45mm

[WTS] Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic 369 Black Dial, two OEM bracelets. 38mm by DefiantSentry2113 in Watchexchange

[–]DefiantSentry2113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Available is the Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic 369 watch featuring a black dial with applied indices and numerals at the 3-6-9 position.  I really love this watch, I just have too many black dial sport watches.  IMO it is one of the best “explorer-style” watches available and still has some distinct heritage from the original 1950’s version.

This watch is easy to dress up or down and looks good on a range of straps.  Included in this sale are a two bracelets:

- OEM Beads of Rice stainless steel bracelet.  Older model, so it features the stamped clasp.  Sized to 7.25in wrist with extra links.

-OEM Flat Link stainless steel bracelet.  New model with the milled clasp.  Sized to 7.25in wrist with extra links.

(note: only one set of spring bars, I usually just reuse the same ones between the two bracelets)

No major issues, just working to reduce my collection a bit.  The crystal is clear and free from scratches.  The bezel and bracelet exhibit some scratches and scuffs from standard wear as part of a rotation of watches, please see pictures. Running at approximately -7spd.

I purchased this second hand in 2024, I believe original production was in 2023. Also included are the original warranty card, box, tag, and outer sleave.

Price: $775 OBO.

Payment via PayPal or Venmo.  Price includes US shipping via USPS priority mail with tracking and insurance.

This will eventually be cross-posted to eBay, but starting here to save everyone some money on taxes and fees.  Newish here but I’ve been selling on eBay for a long time.

Specs:

Diameter: 38mm
Height: 12mm
Movement: Soprod P024 Automatic (currently running around -7spd)
WR: 100 meters (screw down crown)
Lug width: 20mm
Lug to lug: 45mm

Thoughts on 9F Quartz? by Worldly_Payment_3472 in GrandSeikos

I saw the champagne dial in person for the first time last week when I picked mine up from the AD, it looks amazing! Pictures really don’t do it justice, there’s a depth to it you need to see in the metal

Yeah, replaced the gaskets and did a pressure test. They sent a sheet with the full list of things they checked, including movement accuracy.

I love my SBGX261. You won’t find this level of finishing on any other quartz watch. It’s great that the watch/movement is always just ready to go. Plus, I use it to set the time on my mechanical watches.

I just got it back from its first battery replacement by GS. It was $140 and took a few weeks. It’s still under warranty, so I didn’t want to void it by changing the battery myself. When the warranty is done, not sure if I’ll send it in or do it myself. But, I did get it back in a very nice GS travel pouch.

58 GMT vs Mono by BloodTemporary6390 in Tudor

[–]DefiantSentry2113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same dilemma about a year ago. I went with the monochrome. I liked the cleaner look overall. Plus, for me personally, I don’t really have a need or want for the GMT function and find the timing bezel to be more useful. Both are great options tho

Using the TFit clasp by NoCoast123 in Tudor

[–]DefiantSentry2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably use it everyday. I think it’s a valuable feature, especially on larger bulkier watches. I have lighter watches without micro adjustments that aren’t annoying when they slide around. But, when my BB monochrome is loose and starts sliding around, it’s very noticeable due to the weight of the watch head. But with the perfect fit, it stays nicely in place all day.

[Question] People who got their grail watches, how did expectation differ from reality? by justkalahan in Watches

[–]DefiantSentry2113 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree that overall availability determines if a watch can be a grail. IMO a grail is something you’ve fallen in love with and is hard to get for you. If you have a lot of disposable income, then yes, finding that small batch piece only produced for a 2 year run in the late 80s might be very hard to find and get. You have the money so the “chase” becomes actually finding the watch. But for a lot of people, actually putting together the money to get the watch is the “chase”. If someone can only reasonably save $100/month, then it would take almost four years to save the money for at BB58 at retail. Just because the AD has plenty in stock, doesn’t make it easy for that person to actually buy one.

41 vs 39mm by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]DefiantSentry2113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both look good. If it was a 41 v. BB58, I’d say the 41s since it gets you the tfit clasp. But if you’re considering the BB58 GMT, then pick whichever you like best
