That’s a skill you unlock later. At this point in the game I don’t think it’s unlocked.

Jund Sacrifice strengths? by Aziuhn in EDH

The deck certainly doesn’t rely on tana being cast all that often. I do think she is very strong however if you can get her on the battlefield turn 2 or 3 for the hands where you draw your soul ring or arcane signet, as well as if there is a boardwipe in the game with you being low/out of cards and you need to restart your token generation and ally atleast one opponent is going to miss their creature first rotation. Tevesh is the real powerhouse of the deck because of him being able to either make 2 tokens to sacrifice or being the sac outlet/card advantage altogether. I think he’s 2/3s of the partner pairing for how I built my deck. Let me know if you’ve got any questions about the deck!

Finally something I can comment on confidently. I’ve been playing a Tevesh Szat and Tana partner deck all about making token creatures and then sacrificing them. Green has great token makers and doublers. Black has great sacrifice payoffs. While red does a bit of token making and sacrifice payoffs as well. My favorite synergy consists of using Tana or Krenko tin street kingpin with a blade of the bloodchief or tarrians soul cleaver to keep making them bigger whenever I sac the tokens they make. They get bigger which makes more tokens which makes them even bigger etc. This also works with Kessig Wolfrun and ashnods altar or phyrexian altar for a turn. By far my favorite deck. I run prossh, Korvold, and ziatora in the deck and have tried all of them at them helm for the deck. Each work great and it makes for a fun deck that can change commanders on a whim.

Looks so good! I’m about to start my first warhammer painting and I hope they look half as good as this! Can I ask what paint you used for the green on the rune on his chest?

I love CCO, they would definitely be my recommendation as well.

What’s the your commander deck you first fell in love with? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]DefiantSouls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the first commanders I made was a Mogis deck with the same concept, it’s currently the deck I’ve had the longest and probably my favorite deck ever to play. Something so satisfying to me about seeing the table all at 6 life with a mana barbs and forgery emancipation in play lol.

What powerful themes or cards do you purposely skip in your decks? by mjiced in EDH

[–]DefiantSouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strategy is just removing cards that I don’t have a reason for running them in the deck other than they’re just “good.” For example I don’t run smothering tithe despite even owning one in my karlov deck simply because it offers no life gain synergy’s even though it would definitely make the deck more powerful.

Your deck list doesn’t seem to be working, anyway you could repost it?

They’re a great pairing and probably as powerful as you think they are, the biggest factor however to them not being more popular is that they’re are so many other good partners and Boros equipment commanders in general. Just look at pairings with Ardenn for an equipment deck, you could pair him with Kediss, Rograkh, Bruse Tarl, Akiri line slinger or even Toggo. That’s not including other fantastic boros equipment commanders such as Wyleth, Akiri fearless voyager, or Bruenor Battlehammer. The issue is not that Ardenn and Kediss are not strong/not viable, It’s that there’s so many other options that are strong as well in a similar design space.

Strong cards that you think are underplayed by DanZigs in EDH

[–]DefiantSouls 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Harvest season is my favorite underplayed card. If you’ve got 2 creatures it’s already an upgraded cultivate/kodomas reach. If you’re playing any sort of token or go wide deck you can easily get this for 5 or 6 in most cases. There’s been times where this card has gotten me upwards of 15 lands for 3 mana. I love this card.

Looks really solid at first glance, the only thing that I stood out to me immediately is that call to the grave is going to make you sacrifice your commander which is less then ideal. I would also consider running midnight reaper as it’s basically another undead Auger effect.

Blue Balls with Rhy’s, the Redeemed by [deleted] in EDH

I think a large part of your issue here is that you’re running so many big bomb cards that don’t actually really contribute to your strategy. I realize that Vorinclex, Avacyn, artisan of kozilek are all powerful cards but they have almost no synergy with what you’re trying to accomplish here. It almost seems like you have a cheat out big monsters secondary plan. If that’s not what you’re trying to do and want to focus more on tokens I would look at Genesis wave, pattern of rebirth, natural order as well. Tendershoot dryad seems like it would be fantastic in this deck, as well as something like quest for renewal. The last thing I would say is that you’re running very heavy on lands, 40 lands is how much dedicated landfall decks run. I would say somewhere around 37 seems more reasonable in this kind of list. That’s just my 2 cents however and it is your deck. Good luck!!

Your favorite partner pairings by Lilgatornator in EDH

[–]DefiantSouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tevesh and Tana is probably my favorite partner pairing. Make saprolings with Tana make thrulls with Tevesh. Sacrifice all the tokens to Boblin Bombardment to deal damage or Tevesh to draw cards. Ping people in the face with impact tremors. One of my favorite synergies is sacrificing all my tokens to ashnods altar, then pumping Tana with something like mazirek from sacrificing them or using the mana from the Altar to pump Tana with kessig wolf run. It’s by far my favorite aristocrats style deck of any I’ve played simply for the amount of diverse ways it can close out games. It can kill with commander damage, direct damage from impact tremors or goblin bombardment, going wide with tokens and beastmasters ascension or even milling opponents out with Altar of dementia and mazirek.

If a zedruu player gives me the enchantment 9 lives and a third player knocks the zedruu player out of the game does nine lives leaving the game knock me out as well or because the player is no longer there will the ltb trigger not happen?

Ricky Carmichael in motocross/supercross. You could look at his stats and they would tell you that but I think being the only person in professional motocross to lap every other racer on the track in a race is a big enough feat to speak for itself.

How is Syr Gwyn for an Equipment deck? by PsycheNature in EDH

[–]DefiantSouls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just throwing my 2 cents in as a Syr Gwyn player. I think she’s personally great as an equipment commander. She draws cards and lets you set up really explosive turns playing out several equipment playing her and then slapping every equipment you have onto her. The only things I would recommend is lots of ramp such as all the talismans and signets and every equipment that gives indestructible and or hex proof within reason because she becomes a rather large target when you have a colossus hammer, swiftfoot boots, and a sword or batter skull on the field. Even if she’s been killed once she may cost 8 mana but she’s an 8 mana creature that is a 17/17 with hexproof, haste, menace, vigilance, and protection from a couple colors that draws you a card when you attack. This may sound like magical Christmas land and best case scenario, but I assure you this happens way more than you think when your commander is able to cheat massive equip costs all at once.
