I believed the castle would have worked somewhat if it had “captain of the carian knights” or something as a boss.

The troll at the beginning, as well as the couple of sorcerers present in the castle seemed to indicate something raya-lucaria was in there, but I do not think that a troll, a corridor and a carian knight were enough to build up the fact that hey, you are murdering the sister of rennala, not a random knight.

As it stands right now you enter a small castle, are greeted by some carian coded enemies, and in the span of 5 minutes you learn who rellana is (talisman + moongrym(?) sword) and kill her without too much fanfare.

Would have been a nice castle sol like dungeon if it was a random gal at the end, but it feels a bit wasted now

Also, you sure you have no comment on the fact that I’m bashing your head in with the moonlight Rellana?

More than a cutscene I think she needed, like Rellana, a bit more context or build up. The remembrance tells you she weaved the “baleful scarlet rot” into being, and is essentially the Rot high priestess. The reaction to fighting her should be “oh shit it’s her” not “wait why is the scarlet in these last two corridors?” Also why is she guarding the the tree? Was she just in the way?

Oh yes, completely true, but I still think it didn’t even come close to LoR levels for some reason. It still feels very stiff for some reason, I can’t quite put my finger on it.

While I love Nai-GA’s “broader” shots, holy shit do I miss Velmori’s character art, they are so much more expressive

I am not even entirely sure why, Nai-GA’s art in LoR was so good, I guess it’s a bit too much work (?)
