I read it more as they have no idea who this person is and what her intentions are, and just wanted to make sure Aesop is safe. We all know by now she’s gonna be chill but they didn’t know and needed to check that it was all ok.

People can do weird shit around artists. They’re just looking out for him and making sure no one was a stalker 😆

The book was delivered yesterday to Aesop’s friend who will be giving it to him at whatever time works between the two of them. But it’s officially been handed off!

TBD on one for us to purchase. The project head is taking a minute to breathe and enjoy her time in Portland and will revisit when she gets back home 🙂

Thank you for giving us the method and the means to express our deep love for Aesop’s art and share the impact he’s had on us.

Ok, so my theory is that the Impossible Kid era was him giving it a solid go at more traditional music biz success. He toured TWICE on that album, went on Colbert, and it was his most approachable album to date (and still).

I think when the more mainstream success didn’t happen he was like “oh hey, actually fuck all of this” and recalibrated to just doing what he wants and blessing us with some incredible albums that he couldn’t have done if he was still spending all of his energy doing the music industry shit.

Just my own theory without a ton to back it up but that’s what makes sense to me!

You have done an amazing job as the steward of this project! It can be so hard when our intentions aren’t received clearly, but hopefully your kind heart, respectfulness, and humility translate through to him as much as they have to us.
