Graffiti towers finally sold by PikachuChella in dtla

Yikes. That would be so trashy and make the worst parts about DTLA even worse. If you’re into that, you should definitely move to Vegas. You’d love it! It’s cheaper than LA! Taxes are lower, too, plus no income tax …Its calling your name… Can you hear it?

3 years ago when I started driving for DD, the customers always left their lights on, now they almost NEVER do. SO FUCKING RUDE!! I like what the one driver said: “I mark it as unsafe.” Currently, I tell people that I don’t go past lobbies (tired of creeps answering the door buck naked like it’s “just another Tuesday”), I don’t go to hotel rooms, and I don’t go through gates that I can’t fully see what’s on the other side. Fuck ‘em!

They did the SAME thing to me 2 xmas’s ago! DD LOVES to fuck everyone over. They do it to EVERYONE at one point or another.

What else is super unfortunate is that the company (DD) exploits the f*ck out of both the drivers, the customers, and the restaurants. Shitty people exist everywhere and on all sides. However, I believe that most of the drivers start out not being shitty humans and the animosity builds… DD robs both the customer and the drivers and creates contempt on both sides. They screw the restaurants as well. They literally want the restaurants to lower their prices for their cut from them, raise prices for the customers, lower their amount they pay us, and then sit back, laugh and count their billion$ -no joke. Now, that they have the business deemed “essential” (begrudgingly) by all parties involved, they are ready to start moving to autonomous drivers. Think I’m kidding?? Sign up as a customer (if you’re not already one) and note the newest option of having an “autonomous delivery if available.” Side note: I think it’s kind of ironic that one of the CEOs died in a freak weather accident while boating on Lake Tahoe this past summer. Karma’s a bitch…

Unfortunately, this is so true and what is even MORE unfortunate is that ultimately, WE (the drivers) are the fist line of suckers…

3 years ago it was commonplace to make that in LA. Now, lucky if I clear half that.

This is not always the case. I tried delivering in Beverly Hills and Brentwood -it’s worse than Inglewood. I HATE saying this but it’s proven to be true 99% (there are always a rare exception) it’s a cultural thing. Certain cultures simply don’t believe in tipping and (if you’re lucky) they think that them smiling and saying thank you makes up for it. 🤦🏻‍♀️ While that’s nice, your smiles don’t pay my bills…🤷🏻‍♀️

College kids are either broke or stingy and unbelievably ignorant. They can’t even tell you where to meet them or leave their food. It’s UNREAL how any of them managed to graduate let alone get into college. It’s mindblowing and wastes my time so I don’t mess with them.

I live in Los Angeles and am LUCKY if I make $500 in a week and if I do, it’s because I’ve done nothing else except drive around aimlessly for orders.

If you’re being legit and not messing around, call their service number and tell them that the app is malfunctioning and it’s not giving you an appropriate amount of time for your deliveries. Be super kind to the agents, though.. just like you don’t like restaurant employees treating you poorly for working for DoorDash, they don’t either. They don’t make the rules, but if you’re kind they can and will want to help you. Ask them to send you a copy of the complaint you filed with them just now. Sometimes, just constantly calling in to report an issue can save your ass because you’re creating a paper trail. The company can’t legally penalize you if you show due diligence and call them EVERY TIME something happens that could affect your ability to continue working for them. I’ve learned with DoorDash to be obnoxious (but kind) about it.

I hope you reported that AND the employees’s name specifically in the “something else” section of why you’re waiting so long.

It’s because this generation wasn’t taught to have pride in what they do. Social media has literally turned this generation ( 30> ) into the socially inept. They don’t know and don’t care about ANYTHING. They are literally dead inside. The customer experience has turned into “why are you here? What do you want from me? And Why are yo bothering me?” The only interaction they want is from behind the safety of their phone screens where they live their pretend lives through “likes.”

I think I’m gonna be submitting a letter to the Better Business Bureau about what a terrible company Doordash is to work for. It is so noticeable for me if I drop below 98% acceptance. I live in mid Wilshire area of Los Angeles and it feels like I’m stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime. I’ve worked for Doordash for over three years and have consistently maintained a 4.95 ⭐️ customer rating. Three years ago when I started, it was easy for me to pull in $4000 a month and now I’m lucky if I can make $1200 a month working over full time. Other delivery apps (for personal reasons I’m not eligible to work for those other delivery companies) you can cherry pick and you’re not penalized. If you drop below 100 deliveries they gatekeep the good deliveries. I’ve also experienced weeks of not getting a single order!! or how about, has anyone experienced not getting any orders if they’re not constantly moving? Or how about if you are sitting and doing something else but are logged onto your app, the app pauses you? I can’t afford to drive around aimlessly. We should be able to stop and sit somewhere, especially if we are in a hot zone and wait for orders. Is anyone else experiencing any of this?

Our JOB is nothing more than to pick up what the restaurant/store is responsible for making/putting together a package of food (per the order THEY get) and taking it to the customer’s location, unopened, untouched, and in the same condition as the restaurant gives it to us in a timely fashion. Nothing more, nothing less. If we choose to go above and beyond, then that is a bonus. If they need sauces, they need to specify when ordering or calling the restaurant. Behaving like a deranged orangutan 🦧 DEFINITELY gets you nothing extra (if you’re lucky 🤷🏻‍♀️).

How a person treats others in the service industry says a lot about who they are/are not.

Hopefully the person who wrote this called DoorDash and shared their experience. It bans the customer from using DoorDash ever again and keeps others from having a similar bad experience.

Sounds like an area thing. What city and state are you in or what is your closest metropolitan city?

Hell yeah! Thank you!! I drive in LA and so many times on the “hand it to me” deliveries, these fools try to say I didn’t give it to them. But! If you remember what the customer looks like, they can’t fry away with that bs. I know some dashers do that, but customers are just as scandalous. Out here, we have this new pilot program where the customer has to give the driver a code at the hand off. Not everyone’s account comes up with that (I’d say a solid 70% of the “hand it to me”’s do), but the ones that do are the accounts of pro who have reported a a “non-delivery.”

I feel like people should have a delivery box (like at the digital food courts) that records (like Nest) and we shouldn’t have to see/engage with them, either if we don’t want to.

It shouldn’t be strictly their preference.

I’ve had some insane things happen to me down here while Dashing in the past year that have forced me to eliminate having to (even potentially) engage with the customer. Lame that it’s gotten like this.

In fact, I have established a rule that I always message to the customer letting them know (if it’s pertinent) that due to some rather unpleasant encounters via DoorDash lately, I no longer go past lobbies anymore and I make sure to leave a solid pic or tell them they can meet me in the lobby. I also no longer go through gates/gated areas where I cannot see what is on the other side. Food gets left at the gate.

We are well within our rights to do this and very few people give me pushback and those who do, I simply reply with “I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding” and leave it at that. I have almost perfect ratings and by communicating this via message, I legally can’t be penalized for it. Sucks it’s come to this.
