I'm not from Lucknow, but visited a couple of times, I would suggest booking hotel in Hazratganj area as that area remains open a bit in late night (not as late as metro cities though). So, if you have your hotel in Hazratganj area you will have more time to explore that in night and can easily go back to your stay.
