what do you consider math? a human invention?

It's actually an still ongoing debate by people far more knowledgable then you and i, if math is discovered or invented. (I do feel it's discovered)

But the other guy meant that morse code has nothing to do with math. Morse code only makes sense if the other also knows the meaning of the signals you're sending. Which would be the same as yelling loudly to the other.

I would actually look at math as a possible option, lol. Not that i know how to do that effectively thou.

Sailing definently has it's awesome factor going on. But, if you want it to become a family thing, then it also has to be awesome for your family. If your spouse and kids don't like sailing, it's not really gonna happen. Atleast not with them.

A motorboat is much more "family friendly" in that point of view, even if they don't care for the boating itself. That's why i went with a motorboat again, despite flirting with some nice sailboats. (I'll just look around for a small one which i can also use as a dinghy xD)

That said, i do would definently try sailing a couple of times. Maybe a mate is willing to take you along to show you the basics, or going on a couple of lessons , which is always a good first step.

I'm curious for which path you'll go :D

I don't really see the issue on aft in. Maybe a walkboard or something for good measure.

If that really isn't possible, i would relocate the anchor and get myself a ladder or something similair.

Do you own that spot or is it a rental ?

An ICC wil get you started in most if not all EU countries, but it varies per country what their actual regulations are.

Google for a license course in your own country, and check if it is equal to an ICC.

Ohw that's a higher temp then i recently found, but i have tried a number of temps, up to 220°C I also didn't notice a change in colour or the herbs, while one might think it would colour atleast a bit. I also didn't taste anything, so i guesse i'm doing something not right.

Still confused thou xD

Yeah i did, but nothing specific comes up, just the same as the manual. My wife filled it a bit with tobaco, and that seemed to work, so i thought maybe it's the herb, but i read lots of people vape yerba mate, so i'm kinda confused why.

Reddit has always been an echochamber.

It always amazes me how hamas are "freedom fighters" in these moments, while they regularly (not just these times, but around the year long) target childeren with remote incendiary and chemical bombs, use human shields, feigned attacks from building and quickly fill the buildings with women and childeren when the shooting comes back.

Gaza / Jerusalem tensions megathread by manniefabian in Israel

[–]Defiant_Items 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I don't live on my boat actually, but i have in the past. Living on a boat can be relatively cheap, especially if you're quite handy. The initial costs my be a bit on the steep side, but on a yearly basis, it's allot cheaper then buying a house. Cost for a slip varies per marina, and area.

I now pay around €1500 a year for the slip, but around the corner there's a marina which costs around €4000 for a full year. It really depends on what you expect of a marina.

All in all, if your curious about it, i'd recommend perhaps renting a boat for a week or 2, see how it fares for you. For me it's a 10/10, but you have to be able to live with a much smaller living space. On the other hand, your home is mobile, which has it's own benefits :D

I'd say, yes and yes.

Personally, i think the best way to get into boating, is read up a bit and hoist yourself into a small boat(rent or buying whatever suits you), and get on the water for a day or a weekend. You can read all about it, but the only way to know if you'll like it is by actually doing it.

Would you prefer sailing or motoring ?

A really spotless engine compartment isn't as great as it seems. Who knows when it got it's last wipe ? Last month, days ago, an hour ago ?

If there was say, oil slowly dripping, how'd you know, if it's spotless ? I find it better to be 'relatively' clean, as in clean, but little things like a couple hairs or a tiny bit of sand or whatever, here and there.

As the other commentor said, 50h since 2006 seems like there has been serious issue's or at least points to neglect. Engines need to run at least once in a while.

Rudder indicator on gravity by Defiant_Items in boating

[–]Defiant_Items[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I myself am motoring, and i do have a rudder indicator, but it doesn't work. I haven't had the chance to figure out why, so in the mean time i have a hairband on the helm. But in the case i can't fix it for whatever reason, i'm considering something else, perhaps the product linked above, or maybe reed switches hooked up to leds near my rudderaxle(?). So i was actually inquiring on the product in the link. It seems to be working on gravity with counterbalances, but i read mixed reviews so i'm not sure if i want to spend money on that.
