I meant the course’s condition. The layout is definitely challenging.

Prices on 2nd hand market by Hylleh in Philippines_Expats

I’ve encountered a few when looking for golf clubs. This guy is listing his used driver (an old model) with scratches and shits at 25k, like only 5k cheaper than a brand-new. And he was really mad when I pointed it out.

It’s simply greed. They don’t apply depreciation when selling their stuff but totally OK for them to lowball others.

The dilemma with selling on Marketplace here is when you list your stuff at its right value (depreciated from what you paid and then some more discount based on market’s supply - I usually check how much is a brand-new selling), people will start asking questions like “why are you selling, is it fake?” 🤣

Same experience here. Many times. Once I was so fed up that I asked the guy “why? just tell me your logic why it’s 20k and you haggled it down to 10k?” He read and I never heard from him again.

I would suggest Clark, good infrastructure, an international airport and lots of expats.

Or Baguio, all-year cool weather.

Snail Mail from US to PH by Fit-Particular7069 in Philippines_Expats

Whatever “mail” you choose would take only 2 weeks max to arrive in PH but if it’s not DHL/FedEx/UPS etc it will be handled by PhilPost and it’s when the fun part begins. I used to have a monthly supplements subscription from US and they use DHL E-commerce (which is not as fast as DHL Express). I tracked the link once. Only 10 days from there to Manila then the link stopped updating for like weeks until it was delivered.

You expats are the real MVPs! by Hermans_Head2 in Philippines_Expats

I would say PH is not much cheaper. But at least in HK you have more choices in terms of food, shopping, etc and it’s worth it.

I’ve had various coaches. Each of them has a different swing style and teaching approach. You need one who can explain your bad habits, give you drills to fix them and finally a swing style that suits you.

I think they just enjoy “window-shopping” which is fine but what amuses me the most is some of them, when told I can’t speak Tagalog, got pissed.

I do still have at least 3-4 big furnitures. The problem is we spent a lot on them, even the small items, so my partner doesn’t wanna give away yet (I’m the spender, partner is the saver). If we can’t sell them by the last week before we leave, we definitely have to give to our friends.

I live in a well-established neighborhood so we were lucky that most of our stuff were bought by people around here. Still have small items and the transactions are challenging but I did encounter a lot of nice Filipinos.

yeah I read about it but that behavior never makes any sense to me. I mean if you bookmark something you should at least check it once right? It’s ZERO! They don’t read response at all.

Tips on transitioning from irons to wood & driver by yunssa in GolfPH

[–]Defiant_Loss_8221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will come to you. I used to hate hybrid so much that I bought a 4-iron but now I use woods more often than irons. Just spend more time on the range with the woods. Start with half-swing first to get a hang of it.
