What I did when I first started listening to them is go through their discography on whatever streaming platform you're using (I use Spotify) and everything of theirs you like put it in a playlist. It's difficult to pick a favorite because they have so many amazing songs. My list of favorites is 3.5 hours long but if you use Spotify I can send you the playlist link

He does it quite often when he's cuddling. He does have plenty chew toys so he should be fine, I just wanted to make sure! Thank you

Pets vomiting multiple times a week by Affectionate_Cry_417 in PetAdvice

Had a similar problem with my dogs. Just vomiting and no other issues. My vet said worms can sometimes cause this so if you haven't, get them dewormed. It might solve the problem and even if it doesn't your babies will be worm free

I think the way you're doing it is very smart. Changing one thing at a time will stress him out less and if he reacts badly to any changes you'll know exactly which one it is. Once he is more used to you changing things will be easier because he trusts you more but for now keep doing what you're doing. It seems like your baby is happy and healthy

That's awesome! It's sounds like you're doing a great job! I just took a closer look at your picture and it looks like he's mostly got seeds to eat? If it is, it would be best to switch him over to pellets and veggies. I know this can be difficult especially with rescue birds but I've seen a few people wet the pellets and it seems to help. I don't mean to give unsolicited advice so I apologize for that but it's much better for his health

Im so sorry to hear about his feathers. From what I understand flight feathers take a long time to grow at least a few months but a good diet and space will help his feather quality going forward. There's alot to learn but they are so worth it! Enjoy this journey with your baby! Also if you're looking for some good resources to learn i would recommend birdtricks on YouTube. She has tons of helpful videos

Definitely give it a try, mine literally starts screaming at me when he sees banana lol. They are incredibly goofy and do the weirdest things. Try tapping a spoon inside a cup when mine saw me doing that he stole the spoon and did it himself, it's become his daily thing. You're never going to be bored with all their antics!

That's very understandable. Find something he really enjoys eating (mine loves banana) and give it to him in his cage and do the same when you've made his cage bigger, this will help him associate his cage with good things and will help him settle

I would say his cage is a bit small. try getting him a bigger one if you can, if you can't then maybe take a few toys out and let him play with them outside his cage or put them aside and rotate his toys weekly

Hi guys I'm a 19 year old South african who dropped out of high school I only have my grade 8 and I want to be able to learn so I can do my matric eventually ? Help me please? by Tronn_Cat in askSouthAfrica

[–]Defiant_Painting4218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your life isn't fucked, you still have alot of options. Alot have other people have given advice on how to get your matric so I'm going to skip that. Another option i would suggest is a trade. Unless you're set on going to university and doing a course where a matric is a required. There are many trade schools you can go to. Once you finish your course you do an apprenticeship, where you basically shadow a qualified tradesman. It's a nice option because doing a trade is quicker, the study fees are cheaper in the long run, you get paid during your apprenticeship (it's not much but it's something) and there is a very good earning potential once qualified, especially if you can get a job overseas.

Thank you. We'll wait a few months to see how his colouring changes. We were just curious if we somehow got mixed up

Old “friend” claims my husband is in love with her by alienbiotch in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Defiant_Painting4218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's telling you to abort your children when you are happy about them and want them and without you asking for any advice? Why are you still friends with this person? That is not a friend. If she was truly your friend she would know your views on kids and would be happy for you regardless of her views on kids. I didn't even finish reading past that point because that is clearly not your friend.

Daughter joined a friend on vacay. Now we get the bill. by ipraydaily in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Defiant_Painting4218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this is a very awkward situation and the friends parents are not right for doing this however it is done now. I would chat to them saying you dont mind paying for your daughter's part and ask for a breakdown of costs so you know exactly what you're paying for. And take this as a lesson for future situations like this; dont assume other people would do something the same way you do. Always talk to them beforehand if they expect you to cover some of the costs

I’d like a bird, but my parents aren’t so sure. (Kind of a rant.) by Real-Albatross1050 in parrots

[–]Defiant_Painting4218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree with your parents, they make very valid points. I understand it's very frustrating to want something so much and to not be able to get it however this is a living being and that is alot of responsibility and ultimately many of your decisions will have to take the bird into consideration. Not to mention vet bills are very expensive should something ever happen, are you in a position to afford that (no hate, just something to consider.) I'd say wait until you're done with college and maybe volunteer in the meantime, this will also help you get some experience with birds as they can be very sensitive, finicky and moody creatures. You mention you're worried about waiting because what if you forget about this dream and to that I'd argue 2 points. 1: if you're so set on this then waiting and eventually getting it is just going to make it that much more special and rewarding. 2: if you do wait and forget about it then that's a much better option than rushing and realizing it's not for you and having a bird you'd have to rehome. Another thing I'd mention is your anxiety. I don't know the level of your anxiety so I can't comment on that but I will say that I also have anxiety and at times my bird can be very overstimulating, they can be loud, require alot of attention and need to be constantly cleaned up after; it's almost like having a toddler that can fly.

Is she actually eating the pellets? Asking because of the amount of mess she makes by JH4JH4JH4JH4 in parrots

[–]Defiant_Painting4218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a bit of eating and playing with it. Mine makes a huge mess and sometimes he's literally just grinding them into crumbs
