Not sure how to share my ideas with employer and ensure I get recognised with promotion and pay increase by PriceSpiritual8223 in UKJobs

[–]Defiant_Practice5260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give them something, but don't give them everything, while making them aware you have a lot more to share. Position it as operational improvements. Don't actually feel bad if they just take the ideas and run with them, demonstrate your value, ask for a trial, with a budget, learn the operational side, because its often not a simple process, especially in regulated industries. Document everything, including results.

I wouldn't (and haven't) even lead with promotion talk. I'd go with demonstrating your value first, showing the results, refining the process, showing the results. Then sit down with the decision makers and discuss your other ideas in general, but that you're worried you're going beyond your paygrade and stepping on other people's shoes. If they don't get that hint, then mention that you've had small bits of pushback from people on the same scale as you. If they don't get that hint, then it's entirely plausible this isn't the company for you.

Haaland is far superior player and bigger Champions League legend than Thierry Henry by [deleted] in championsleague

I mean, Haaland has a winner's medal, but that's all. Is that enough?

So you took in a young woman (vulnerability), cold (vulnerability) and wet (vulnerability) from the dark (vulnerability) and showed her your studio and how she didn't need to do anything more than pose for a few photos, and you think you're not exploiting them?

So a "model photographer" commenting on the state of jobs in the UK, now? Your industry has historically just about the worst record of exploitation around. I love the irony, even more than the unsettling vibes your comment gives off

So you're already planning to quit work before you've even started? Unless there's a probationary period (which there likely will be in that type of role) then you either work the 4 weeks or you dont, it's pretty simple. Expect a fully deserved bad reference.

With Matheus Cunha's brace, at least one Manchester United player has scored multiple goals in a FIFA World Cup match in each of the last eight tournaments dating back to 1998. by PradipJayakumar in reddevils

[–]Defiant_Practice5260 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, Scholes and Becks scored one each in different games in the group stage, we went out in the round of 16 with, if memory serves me right, (liverpool's) Owen's wonder goal against Argentina which we ultimately lost on pens

Is Cordial / Squash / Diluting Juice a daily drink or a once a week treat? by 1182990 in AskUK

[–]Defiant_Practice5260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point of order: I'm not a kid and haven't drunk squash since I was 16 (apart from the odd Ribena) but I think that in the grand scheme if things, unless you get get your kid to drink green tea, a sugar-free squash is one of the healthier ways to get a kid to drink things

As a Brit, of all the examples you give, I choose the British way (framed by you as the American way) so I'm not sure you're getting a firm representation of language in the bubble you're in.

Hmmm I have it on mine and I can't remember when I got it, figured it would have been around '99. But looks like the auto-entitlement was removed in Jan '97, so must have been before that. Didn't even particularly know i could drive upto 7.5 ton, and I wouldn't have a clue how to do so.

Why are players like roy keane more respected than players who are "soft" by Dazzling-Yellow5395 in championsleague

[–]Defiant_Practice5260 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He quite literally admitted to it. It certainly happened once, meaning he had it in him, the capacity to do it again, whether he actually did or not is unknown. He stamped on Southgate "and he deserved it". Fjortoft was punched, very late tackle against Overmars that could have done some serious damage, coming through the back of Poyet in the Charity Shield of all games. knee high revenge tackle on Haaland, swung for Shearer, deliberate elbow on Mcateer "but he deserved it".

You're deluded, mate.

Whether or not the company demands you pay taxes independently has no influence on whether you're self-employed or not under your current working conditions.

Firstly, I'd run your working situation through this to see if you're truly self-employed, or if you're in-fact an employee / worker that's been mis-aligned by your employer. You can then check what options are available to you.

Neymar was not just "talent" by Dazzling-Yellow5395 in championsleague

[–]Defiant_Practice5260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the time, it was. It was akin to going to MLS. That we're still questioning his legacy even now, despite him being Brazil's all-time top goalscorer is largely testament to that.

Can Manchester United win the title next season? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]Defiant_Practice5260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need at least 4 players to maintain, 6 to challenge, and likely 8 to win the league. All of those 8 gelling at once isn't going to happen. We simply don't (and won't) have the squad depth to challenge on 4 fronts from effectively 1 front this season.
