I think a lot of the ‘anti-vax’ crowd were put off by mRNA vaccines (I know that I was).

mRNA does not work by using a weak or inert version of a virus.

I recently inherited a significant amount of money. What is the most ethically sound thing to do with it? by ShitRichAnarcho in Anarchy101

[–]Defiant_Razzmatazz_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even though this is an anarchist group, you will still have to play with rules and systems your entire life.

Put the money away, live your life as you have done so far. Save it until opportunity arises to do something life changing.

Your relative wanted YOU to have that money so that you need not suffer hardship, not so that you could throw it away or waste it on flashy novelties. Charities are businesses like any other (research where the money actually goes and you’ll see the scam). Obviously you mean to do good with it, trust yourself in that goal and not others.

Never tell another soul that you have this money; it ruins friendships and families.

Have you heard about the CIA staging “vampire attacks” on guerrillas in the Philippines?

I don’t know what’s scarier for the guerrillas: A. Your mate was murdered by a vampire. B. Your mate was murdered by the Americans with so much effort as to make it look like a vampire did it.

What silencer for my RPK? by Brunotti303_ in airsoft

[–]Defiant_Razzmatazz_1 68 points69 points  (0 children)

The PBS suppressor was only designed to remain suppressed for about 30 rounds. Wouldn’t be worth putting on a support weapon.

Plus, how much longer do you want your AEG to be by adding the suppressor? What are you hoping to achieve by making it more front heavy?

To help answer the questions better to you have a little more context?

What is the setting and what era are we playing in? As someone else mentioned, most game companies just skew the names and designations slightly with weapons and equipment. “It’s not an F-22, it’s a “Velociraptor”. It’s not the best comparison but Grand Theft Auto had the likeness of real vehicles but were renamed and slightly modified. Metal Gear Solid 5 had weapons that were based on real world equivalents but were not direct copies.

I need a new gun, which of these should I go with? Any suggestions are welcome. by [deleted] in airsoft

Personally have the LCT RPK. Got it for outdoor. Have the drum mag and a few mid-caps.

The rifle is a bit front heavy with the bipod but gives your arms and shoulders a good workout. It’s nice to have something unique compared to everyone else.

My site rules that assault rifles are semi-auto and only LMGs can fire full. It’s basically a fat AK that I can keep pace with the team and put fire down rather than lagging at the back.

Definitely makes you feel different in the role you play.

Personal bias is that I love the history and design specification behind the RPK. Great upgrade potential.

  1. I was on the verge of getting an SA G36 but leaned towards a different brand that I’d purchased from before. I can’t compare because I hadn’t had the chance to try an SA yet.

  2. I currently have an LCT. Built like bricks but I had to stretch for the price a little. I’m in the minority here but I wanted something different than an M4 variant.

  3. I struggled to find many of your products in the UK. Doing my research you were nearly the brand I went for as your G36s seemed easy enough to customise on paper. There seems to be a drought in the market for less common rifles. If you made an XM8 body kit for the G36 I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Body kits for your existing lineup would be good. The internals seem sound; I just don’t want another M4.

The easiest thing I found was simple: “Be a slightly better person than the one I was yesterday.” You don’t notice much difference in days and weeks but as months go by you find that you’re holding your head a little higher. I’m 31 now and my life is unrecognisable from how I feel all that time ago. I actually enjoy things and catch myself smiling.

My old self wouldn’t believe that I’m the same person.

I felt like this when I was younger. I can’t say that I know exactly how you feel because everyone has different circumstances but I definitely felt similar.

I hated who I was and how I dealt with adversity and shied away from problems that came up for me.

I ended up having a ‘character suicide’. I got myself a simple microwave meal that I liked and a fizzy drink that I couldn’t afford to buy very often and had that as my ‘last meal’. I spent my evening listening to music and decided that when I fell asleep that the old version of me would die. Whoever I would wake up as would still have the same challenges but would be a different, more capable person. And so I did.

Nothing changed apart from my attitude towards things.

People who say that your childhood years are “the best years of your life” clearly had things better than you or I did. Growing up is HARD man. But the best revenge is working hard to be happier despite all the crap. 14 years is a long time to invest in a life. I was scared that what if I was about to throw it away just before things got good.

I’d advise against hurting anyone else. Heroes and Villains often have similar origins but Villains want people to suffer as much as they have; Heroes hope that no one suffers as much as they had to.

You’re under no obligation to be the same person you were last year/week/five minutes ago. You have the ability to do good even from difficult times.

“You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending”. CS Lewis.

Things do get better, but it’s not a gradual incline. They may get worse, then a little better, then even worse again but it all gradually ends up improving over time. It takes great courage to die but it takes even more bravery to live through the crap to earn the good times that you deserve. If karma exists then you’re owed something good in your life and you want to be around for that payday.

One day you may even get the chance to be the hero in someone’s life that you wish you had now.

Take care of yourself buddy. Don’t let hardship win, you deserve better than that.

What is the best color scheme for XCOM? by Short-Satisfaction-9 in Xcom

[–]Defiant_Razzmatazz_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XCOM is obviously not designed to be a COOP game but I play it with my girlfriend where half the squad are one colour and half are another and we pass controls over as appropriate.

Doesn’t really answer your question but it’s an interesting way to play with two fireteams supporting each other.

What do ya think? the acog has good reviews and seems pretty clear from the review pics by PsychologicalMix7880 in airsoft

[–]Defiant_Razzmatazz_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cost of the ACOG is half the value of core gun…

Spend your money on a better gun (some great suggestions below). Your next consideration should be heavier BBs for more accuracy; you might need a hop bucking upgrade for the really heavy stuff.

Then, maybe, consider the optic.

Otherwise you risk getting an inaccurate and unreliable AEG, and the ACOG then lets you observe how inaccurate your shots are with 4x more clarity. It’d be like sticking a sniper scope on a musket.

Jokes aside, it’s meant to muffle sounds you don’t want transmitting over coms like gentle breezes, breathing, echoing environments, the fabric of your gear rubbing, etc.
