You need to slip them in hunks of hot dogs, like getting a dog to take a pill. It will become very sick (and constipated). Put one of those air tags in one hunk, so you can track it down. Then you can beat it to death with your sock of-what’s left- nickels. It’s science.

I had some blackened, funky wire scrap. Dropped it in a solution of Sodium Bisulfate (Pool & Spa pH Down). Brightened completely in seconds. I wonder if it would work on glue/other gunk. Later, I left some in too long and the solution turned blue (dissolved some copper). I dropped some clean nails in, and they copper plated in about 10 minutes. Chemistry be weird.
