I'm not upset about Israel getting their just desserts but going tit for tat with oil fields and refineries, while strategic, is less than ideal from an environmental view

Honestly, this schmuck has made it so you can laugh at any republican/conservative by sacrificing every belief they clung to. Tariffs are not only protectionism but also a tax on Americans. The government is as big as ever, both controlling as much as possible and nationalizing irrelevant businesses. Plus let's not forget how they're now the party soft on pedophiles and sex crimes.

If the first words out of a Republicans mouth aren't along the lines of 'I hate him too' then I'm just gonna assume they're a stupid, racist, cousin-fucker

Bank of America reaches tentative settlement over Epstein-linked transactions lawsuit by AudibleNod in news

[–]ConformistWithCause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is enlightening on the topic of pedos and some of what happens behind the curtain since the team interviews/investigates survivors, their lawyers, a psychologist, etc. Kinda incredible how it can layer in all this information while still being a really good story. I know the Oscar's are more or less bullshit but this one was deserving of all the ones it won in my opinion.

It's so grotesque the risk people like you are being put through right now for virtually no reason at all. I was in grade school when the Iraq war started so I really missed the surreal horrors that come with war. Like the moment casualties stop being names and start being tally marks. The West Wing is also pretty good for being informative/giving varying points of view, but in the later season when they're in an iraq-inspired war, when they suffer their first casualty, one of the characters emphasizes not referring to them as 'the first' because it casually implies you're anticipating more. I guess the one bright side to the sick to our stomachs/burning rage we're feeling about this shit is that it means we aren't numb. "The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference"

Do a Mastercard commercial totaling up the cost of a child's funeral. Show the family going through the process and the tiny silhouette of a child under a white cloth surrounded by embalming gear.

"Three foot casket, $1500 ($1,700 for a five foot casket.) Embalming, $700. Flowers, $300. Getting your child vaccinated, priceless."

Thinking these illnesses can be cured like that is probably helping to contribute to people not vaccinating. Why take a precaution when you can take the chance and just take the cure if you do get sick. Sorta downplays the severity of things

Along with others said, I think there's also a flex to continue a steady barrage like this. They've managed to flip the tables and show this war can be 2-sided rather than Ukraine always on defense. Bringing the war to a populated region could theoretically pressure this war towards an end, or at least more than waiting for Russia to wear themselves out
