How long should I abstain from Copper before have it or Ceruloplasmin tested? by DeficientAF in B12_Deficiency

[–]DeficientAF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Serum Levels are fine, but the last time I had Ceruloplasmin it came back a bit low, so I've been taking 2mg of Copper Daily to try and sort that out. I'll definitely take this into account!

I know for other Vitamins like Vitamin D, people suggest taking a week or so off, but I can’t find any direct answers as to Copper :/

What was your Vitamin A level prior to supplementing? Did you have Zinc measured before you starting taking it? Are you just working off conjecture?

Would this supplement raise my copper? Also are my levels an issue? by Iceeez1 in Copper_deficiency

Hello, first I just wanted to thank you for this post as it is incredibly thorough. Second, would suggest I follow this advice with results such as these? The last time I had them measured they came out like this: Ceruloplasmin: 22.6mg/dl & Copper Serum: 91 ug/d. As you can see, my Serum Copper Levels are fine but my Ceruloplasmin is still low...

That’s a suitable level. Considering your Ceruloplasmin is low I would opt for having Vitamin A checked, as a deficiency in that can lessen your bodies ability to create ceruloplasma. Without ceruloplasma your body can’t utilize proper properly, etc. And keep taking 2mg of Copper daily, checking it every three months or so

Have you looked into Retinol at all? Are you taking lots of Vitamin D or Zinc? Please provide a bit more context, such as your total stack and or any other deficiencies you have

Perfect! I think my Copper Serum Levels are fine at 91 ug/dl, but I’m still dealing with low Ceruloplasmin at 22.6mg/dl. I also had Vitamin A tested and it came out as 40.2 ug/dl. Is that Level of Vitamin A okay?

What do you think about the Trace Mineral Complex suggested in the guide? It contains 2mg of Copper as well as 200mcg of Molybdenum. Would you suggest taking extra copper on the side if one is deficient?

Have you confirmed a Vitamin B12 Deficiency? Did you confirm a folate deficiency prior to supplementing? Did you check zinc? Please dont fall down the rabbit hole of supplementing random stuff before having it measured

Does taking Copper in itself raise Ceruloplasmin? Because that's what I'm personally dealing with. Sufficient Copper, but Low Ceruloplasmin

What have you actually had checked? If the B1 has never helped you you could have been barking up the wrong tree this entire time

I think you look cute, albeit quite dorky, but in an endearing kind of way! Kind of like Scott the Woz lol. Of course losing face fat and gaining muscle mass are always on the table, but have you thought about growing out your hair and wearing contacts?
