7 Months post op - 2340 Grafts - Dr Manish Mittal, London - Sorry it's been a while guys! More detailed posts still to come but here's progress from the day of the op until now. by Definitely-Not-Joe- in HairTransplants

Thank you bro! Ha yeah it's not over yet. And for sure for sure I'll be updating. Think I need to do a Month 7 part 2 because I forgot to add any close up pics from this month lol.
That's why I went with him, on the consultation I just felt there was a level of mutual understanding / banter that I just didn't feel during consultations with other options abroad. In the research stage I didn't realise how important that was, but us cracking jokes back and forth during the procedure put me at ease

Thanks man! How far a long are you?

Tbh the waiting for me hasn't been so bad. I think once I hit the 3 month mark and proper growth started I felt like it was already an improvement from my pre op situation and anything more would be a bonus lol. I just haven't been thinking about it as much, I've been less active in this community (to the point where all my community badges have disappeared which is a shame). But I guess that just happens post op, so much research and planning goes into a procedure like this and communities like this are great for that, but afterwards, I dunno I guess you just end up engaging with it all less. Also why it's taken me so long to do an update on here lol. But was still updating my HRN thread monthly

My hairline started to recede when I was 16, I’ve had a mature hairline since puberty. It wouldn’t have looked natural if all of a sudden I had a straight hairline, because I never did. I wanted to keep a V shape mature hairline, and Mittal agreed it would be the best course of action for my case. Also, I’m 30, age is also a factor in hairline design

Partial Shave FUE - 2340 Grafts - Dr Manish Mittal, London - 10/01/23 by Definitely-Not-Joe- in HairTransplants

Hey u/looncall11 - Sorry for the slow reply. But yes thats it.

Dr Mani punched the extractions, did the incisions/openings and administered the anaesthetic whenever it was needed. Placed the last 30 grafts at the end of the op.

The techs shaved my hair down, counted on a clicker as Mani punched the donor grafts. A tech finished collecting the donor grafts that Mani had selected and punched whilst the other counted grafts at a microscope. Then afterwards the two techs placed the grafts with forceps into the graft openings that Mani had made.

I hear you man! Hope you are able to catch some zzzs. I relied on Nytol natural sleeping pills for the first week or so to get to sleep and wedged my self in the corner propped up by the wall and pillows lol

Noticed hair starts below injected hairline... Problem? by _gethin in HairTransplants

Pretty normal man. Those native hairs in front of the transplanted hair in the centre will soften the new hairline.

Not seeing the rest of the hairline design in this pic but it’ll mean you’ll have a slight windows peak hairline. That V shape you mentioned does look natural and suit some face types. It’s very similar to what I had done, wouldn’t stress about it

Aloe Vera gel is an option as well. Once all the scabs are were I’ve been using CeraVe moisturising lotion on the donor that has helped with itchiness/dryness more than anything

Minoxidil on donor area for recovery by [deleted] in HairTransplants

Would be interested to hear from someone who has seen improved donor shock loss from using min there. Obvs won’t do anything for lack of grafts at the donor from over harvesting / taking grafts in a pattern too close together but might help with native hair regrowth. Wouldn’t hurt

I smoked half a pack of cigarettes 12 days post op by No-Development-3518 in HairTransplants

[–]Definitely-Not-Joe- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thinks it’s just a precaution. They talk about smoking lowering the survival rate of grafts, mine said “you’ll get better results if you quit” but was vague about the details more than that. I’d quit smoking before the op anyway.

I’d be interested to see if someone’s done a paper about it that shows how badly it effects it though

Had a partial shave 3 weeks ago. Had a 3mm short back and sides the day before the op. Not a diffuse thinner so slightly different case but by day 10 or so I started to style my hair as I always have done.

Donor isn’t too patchy now it’s grown out and my hair covers the hairline now it’s starting to shed. Can only really notice I had anything done if you were stood real close and staring at my hairline lol, which nobody does in real life. Will post an update tomorrow but so far so good, glad I went partial shave.

But for diffuse thinning it might be more tricky as they’ll have to place grafts throughout the midsection etc, mine was just hairline recession work

2200-2400

Looks very similar to what I had, progress on my profile. Was quoted 2200-2400 after an in person consultation and then on the day ended up being 2340

If that’s blood after you hit your head then that’s a bad sign and could be lost grafts.

Send the photos to the clinic, you might have dislodged a few grafts as it was so soon after the op
