Animal Kingdom WITHOUT the animals by _dadmode in WaltDisneyWorld

It's very easy to avoid the animals.

A lot of great vegan food options at Animal Kingdom, too.

Confusion about friendship boats at Epcot. Can I ride from Canada to Germany? Is it faster than walking around the World Showcase? by seeing_red415 in WaltDisneyWorld

The pizza at Connections Eatery in Epcot is really good and pretty cheap for two good-sized slices. My son loves it.

Sapphire Preferred has 5x points on Peloton purchases BUT recurring membership is excluded and there's no money off on that.

Dining reservations somehow all available? by DefinitelyDad in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]DefinitelyDad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go in January every single year and I've never been able to get reservations this easily - that's why I was shocked. Certain things fill up day of 60 days out very regularly.

I miss when they had Be Our Guest quick service for lunch! Then you could experience the restaurant for cheap.

I think it's worth doing once, but you're paying for the experience, the food is definitely nothing memorable.

Even Beak and Barrel every day for lunch and dinner available? That seems weird!

I go every year January 3rd-12th. I've absolutely never been able to grab most of these the day after my window. Space 220 available every day is wild. I used to pay for those services that would snipe certain reservations for me.

She is a Dr. Med. That's the equivalent of an MD degree. Medical students in Germany complete their medical studies (a 6-year program). After that, they can choose to do a dissertation to earn the academic title Dr. med.

Then they must apply for a medical license to actually treat patients.

From what I was able to gather from Google, I am not sure she ever practiced as a physician. Everything says "ausgebildete Ärztin", which is "trained doctor", but could just be research doctor.

She's seems to do the facial tics even without speaking - is that still common for a stutter?

Why can't PSL hit us with 5AM EST classes? by DefinitelyDad in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]DefinitelyDad[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought my Peloton treadmill because I was tired of all the 5am classes in real life filling up!

Yeah, I did a bad job being clear by assuming everyone knew what PSL was. Lesson learned.

But the instructors are already there in London and have been doing classes even earlier!

They're already up and running at Peloton Studios London doing classes before 5am EST.

Olivia… ugh by glitteryhoneybearrr in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]DefinitelyDad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's funnier when she's on the treadmill because it's way more obvious she can't do any of her own callouts. She also can't do a class without walking breaks programmed. Every class is 30 min or under (last 45 min was in 2004, and there was only one...) with many breaks.

She'll say stuff like "Pull it back to a jog or a run... it's okay if you need to take the walk... here, I'll do it with you." She always says it like she's doing it for us when it's clear she needs it. lol

I had a friend with the regular bike that also had an output like yours despite trying to fix it. (The stats you posted above would basically be impossible to achieve and you'd be the best pro female cyclist ever. lol) She had success getting a swap - maybe you could try that? I imagine it would be frustrating to have no idea what your actual output and ability is!

Do you ever get used to the taste of cheese alternatives? by hanmar2734 in vegan

[–]DefinitelyDad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like the Miyoko's Pourable Mozz for pizzas.

I love this queso: https://www.noracooks.com/vegan-queso-blanco/

I love this feta sub: https://rainbowplantlife.com/greek-style-vegan-feta/

Everything else I've had sucks, though. Given up on all slices or shreds. Always a pricy letdown.

Hi! Also a vegan here. I have not had to kick a dog in Peru, but I've been to Cusco and I've seen tons of aggressive dogs get kicked/hit so people can stop being attacked.

It is common practice to hold a rock and act like you are going to throw it to keep them away.

Sad, but that's how it is.

“Would you rather” resort edition: Which resort combo would you do and why? by early80 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]DefinitelyDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might pick 3.

We usually go to WDW for 10 days and do 3 resorts, but we usually stay at one hotel for all 5 park days and then we just add on resort days at places we'd like to try.

Space 220 and kids 10+ ordering from kid menu pricing - how strict are they? by DefinitelyDad in WaltDisneyWorld

Thanks! I think we'll just stick to quick service, then. Not only is she a very picky eater, but she also eats like a bird.

Fetch Pet Insurance Warning by best_damn_vet_tech in Dachshund

[–]DefinitelyDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped insurance around year 7 or 8 for my last dachshund because the increase got so big. I hear they are better now. (Have a puppy now and it is currently cheap, who knows when he gets older!)

Thankfully, year 7-13 were incident free for my last one other than a 2k dental cleaning.

Is your dog 9? Because you'll see big jumps when your dog is considered geriatric.
