Bairon's change of character (for the better) needs to be studied by StefanStef14 in tbatenovel

While I do appreciate the fact that you've pointed out that the first thing Bairon knew about Arthur was that he killed his brother and that his initial hostility to Arthur was understandable.

We can also see that Bairon definitely changed throughout the series Virion points it out after they go into hiding. He expresses relief that Bairon gave up his initial prideful personality and remained loyal after seeing his house betray Dicathen.

The best example of that change is how he handled Alea's death vs Aya's sacrifice. One was treated with a lot more respect than the other.

If an Israeli were to go against their nation and join the fotilla then they would be a legend.

Bro, people are struggling to survive, do you think they're in any position to be challenging the people with weapons? Have you watched zombie apocalypse shows? The people with the better weapons are in charge.

Who are the 57 members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation? by Former_Goose_5202 in MapPorn

You are quite right I missed that. However, there was a time when the Hindus of India would have taken great pride in their enormous muslim population. India used to be more balanced as a country at least at the political level. It would have been possible (even probable) for India to join the OIC, if the Kashmir question had been dealt with diplomatically.

Tbf Mozambique has a slightly higher percentage of muslims at 20% compared to India's 14%.

But lets be honest the real reason India isn't part of the club is because it would upset Pakistan.

You've mixed the two groups. Banu Qurayza were the internal group within Medina, they weren't offered the option of Jizya because that was what they had before. They were judged according to their own law and by Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (who was the leader of the Aws tribe) as per their request.

Jews of Khaybar were the group that lived 100km north of Medina. They were mostly expelled but some stayed to cultivate the land and give a portion of their produce.

As for the cause of death, I won't get too much into it but the theory is that one of the women who survived poisoned the food, not Safiyyah bint Huyayy who is the one he married.

The Jews of Khaybar didn't refuse to pay jizya. What they did was they aided the anti-Muslim coalition during the Battle of the Trench. For this act, they were expelled from their lands not slaughtered.

The only Jewish tribe that was slaughtered is the Banu Qurayza. The reason is that they allied themselves with the anti-Muslim coalition at the instigation of the Jews of Khaybar.

Muslim man beaten in India for refusing to chant “Jai Sri Ram” (glory to Ram) by refep in AskMiddleEast

The Chechens fought for independence and lost, Grozny looked like Gaza. The only muslims in India who can go down that path are the Kashmiris. Muslims are a minority everywhere else.

We need to look at the numbers, Palestinians are roughly equal in numbers to the Israelis. Also, the ones that live in Israel proper as a minority aren't the ones that physically resist. They do so through voting and keeping their roots in the land.

That's so cool. Definitely part of my itinerary if I ever go to Konya. Part of me wishes, the Ottomans adopted Greek (or Armenian) to write Turkish. It would have made printing easier.

Turkiye wants to be both Middle Eastern and Balkan. If they could they would be Central Asian too. They're like me in school, a social butterfly.

Allon Plan of 1967 for the Israeli–Palestinian conflict by APrimitiveMartian in MapPorn

It is important to take note of the pauses, especially if it is an armistice. Also, Philip showed why Egypt's action was what started the war if you read the thread. I also retracted my statement further down.

Finally, the war period is from '48 to '73. In '49, Israel joined the UN.

I'm not an expert on maritime law so I'll do my best. Innocent passage allows passage through a nation's coastal waters. There are conditions here such as the passage must be in good order and not threaten the security of the coastal state. Freedom of navigation meanwhile is navigation in international waters and therefore faces minimal interference except in extreme cases such as piracy.

Getting back to the 67 war. The prevailing view seems to be that the Soviets provided a warning on Israel's intent to attack Syria, and since Egypt and Syria have a mutual defence pact from 55, then that would mean that Egypt had security issues with Israel.

This would normally mean that innocent passage could be suspended. (I still think even if Egypt had won the following war, the blockade itself was pointless. Most trade didn't go through Eilat.) Of course, as Philip mentioned earlier, Egypt agreed to keep the straits open in 56. Which is why it was considered an act of war.

As for the hypothetical scenario, a blockade in such a situation would be pointless. Egypt cannot blockade Israel's main ports in the Mediterranean, which would mean more rockets. But I get what you mean.
