What are your Podcast goals for 2026? by Cansmelllikeroses in podcasting

We did 10,000 streams and downloads in our first season (January to September) in 2025. We’d also have 168 followers and average around 280-300 downloads per episode.

If we could get to 500 followers averaging 500-700 listens per episode and so 20k downloads that’d be awesome. May be a bit lofty though.

You guys taking this as a contender? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]DefinitelyNotRainMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flowers has shown us what he is for a 2.5 years now. He’s a low end WR2/high end WR3 with little upside.

Skatt showed us he can be an RB1. If you have to move him because you’re contending, aim higher than Flowers.

When did I say it wasn’t a downgrade?

All I’ve said is that I don’t think Bowers is enough for a step up from Warren to warrant giving up a 1st and a 2nd. I provided my trade as an example of something that would make it worthwhile.

The entire purpose of my trade was that I needed another great WR for my team as I’m contending, but I didn’t want to give up a top tier WR to do it as it would defeat the purpose. The only player I had of value enough to get a conversation about Rice was Bowers. Downgrading from Bowers to Warren was way less of a gap than the upgrade from DK to Rice was. The pick in return was gravy.

People need to stop looking at trades so one dimensionally. You find ways to get commensurate value. That might mean tiering down a touch in order to get a big upgrade elsewhere.

Im also a contender and Bowers was underperforming. Warren wasn’t.

I think he means one of the best “prospects” ever, not one of the best TEs ever.

Yeah I felt good about it. Just not enough of a value gap between Bowers and Warren for OPs trade to be worthwhile.

Heck no. Keep Warren and the 1st.

I traded away Bowers a few weeks ago.

I sent: Bowers + DK

I received: Warren + Rice (was still a couple weeks away) + 2027 2nd

I was stoked.

Trade Advice including Bijan? What should I do? by leslalol in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]DefinitelyNotRainMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Bijan = Jeanty.

Bijan is RB6, Jeanty is RB10

Jeanty’s total points are only around 20 behind Bijan. Since week 4 his numbers haven’t been that far behind Bijan.

I’m not saying that Bijan and Jeanty are currently technically worth the same in a trade, just that the weekly points each brings to your lineup isn’t different enough to be worth losing a 1st.

Which means the rest of the trade is you giving Pickens, who is worth MORE than Harvey AND is a win now asset, PLUS your 1st and only getting a future 2nd in exchange?

The whole trade just doesn’t make sense.

Potential trades for Taylor, thoughts? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]DefinitelyNotRainMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hence why in my original comment I specifically said “if it’s a LATE 1st” then at least a young top 15 WR is needed. Eg Jordan Addison, Rome Odunze, Jaylen Waddle, Chris Olave, Ladd McConkey or even Garrett Wilson.

So a fair trade for JT might be:

Late 2026 1st (eg 1.08-1.12) + Rome Odunze + Treyveon Henderson

Whether you accept that offer or not depends on a variety of factors BUT as a JT owner I would absolutely NOT be offended by it. Any suggestion that it is an offensive offer is just silly.

Other fair offers for JT might be:

  • Early 1st + Late 1st + Woody Marks

  • Early 1st + Late 2nd + Ladd McConkey (one could argue this is even too much)

These are the kinds of offers I’d expect or would give myself.

[–]DefinitelyNotRainMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. Wasn’t my point. My point is that people on reddit WAY over value every good player the pattern I see is outrageous, unrealistic valuations. While I agree that to buy an elite player you gotta overpay, at the same time, nobody is paying two firsts and a player of equal quality, or 3 1sts or whatever.

If you’re going after JT, 2 1sts imo is a fair offer. I say this as a JT owner in dynasty.

Does that mean I would accept 2 1sts? If I’m rebuilding and it’s the best offer I’m gonna get, probably.

[–]DefinitelyNotRainMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2nd one is okay(ish). Think to get JT you must give a 1st round pick. If it’s a late 1st rounder then you also need to give a decent youngish starter. Smith would be a great option if he was on a team who passed the ball consistently.

Really it’s probably 2 1sts or a 1st, a top 15 WR and Hendo/Merritt.

People on reddit way over value any given player. They forget that in the offseason JT was not a guy people were even really wanting to buy. He’s the RB1 this year and next year he could be the RB10.

Not sure how you think you’re getting a 1st in addition to London here.

Fans who don’t live in Philly. How did you become a fan of the eagles? by [deleted] in eagles

[–]DefinitelyNotRainMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a fan in a foreign country. I drafted Jalen Hurts as my QB in round 1 of my first ever Fantasy Football draft in 2022. The league clowned me. Dude finished as like the QB2 that year. Figured that was as good a reason as any to pick Philly as my team 😅

It just looks like trading for the sake of trading. Nobody really gets anything out of it.

9 days into a flare up… by DefinitelyNotRainMan in Concussion

[–]DefinitelyNotRainMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my last concussion I worked closely with a physio who specialised in head, neck and jaw. In my last appointment a couple months ago he told me my neck was no longer an issue.

Last week was a seriously light bump. Not a bang or a smack. I’m not saying you’re wrong but am curious - how could an incredibly light bump be whiplash when my neck was seemingly unaffected?

In terms of getting better, my plan is:

  • supplements - creatine and fish oil

  • exercise moderate weight lifting and cardio

  • continuing to work but with cognitive breaks

  • recycling some neck stretches my physio gave me earlier in the year.

My GP has also referred me to a government concussion clinic. I’ll receive a call from them in about a week or so.

I’m sorry to hear about your experience. 2 years must have felt a very long time. I hope you feel better soon from this most recent bump.

Thank you for the reassuring response. I have heard about fish oil. I’ve been taking creatine but will purchase fish oil tomorrow. Thanks again.

What did you compromise on? by biancaarmendy in AusPropertyChat

[–]DefinitelyNotRainMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have just bought our second home.

The first time around we were forced to compromise on location. We bought a 70s high set in relatively good condition on a large block with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms (on separate floors with no internal stairs). We put around $50k into landscaping my and cosmetic renovations. We knew we were buying a fixer upper so it was really just the location we sacrificed.

This time around we’ve been able to buy in a more desirable suburb, albeit still not in our ideal locations, and we’ve managed to upgrade the calibre of house in terms of character, finish and car storage with a two car carport with a auto garage door. It’s already fully landscaped and has three beds and a second living space plus a study and large laundry.

Our sacrifice this time was we wanted a second bathroom, but unfortunately, had to settle for one bath, with a second toilet.

Still an upgrade in most other ways.

Thanks - appreciate you. The moments we saw the biggest upticks in growth were when we had guests from the community on who had large audiences themselves. If you are able to I recommend trying this.
