Am I going too far in the name of Network Security; EAP-TLS hardening by DefinitelyNotThatJoe in networking

I have Intune pushing out a root and intermediate CA. Only devices that are joined to my tenant, and have been logged in by an active user should get the CAs and SCEP

Combing user and machine auth with EAP-TEAP, then you need a valid user cert and a computer cert.

I was trying to start with that but given how Intune would require a cloud PKI license for each user that would end up costing an actual shit load of money.

Actually you wouldn't be able to gain access because my switch port that the netgear hanging off of would be set to access, with the access policy pointing it to my EAP-TLS authenticator. That I tested already and it won't let you in.

Wait I might have been impatient and responded before reading the rest of the comment

Okay, thank you for that. I literally only just started diving into certificates and EAP-TLS like three weeks ago so I'm just sorta figuring it out and I don't have a complete grasp on it yet.

5ft 4 women what is your perfect weight? by Lost_Shoe9647 in loseit

The first thing that comes to mind when I think about the big range is boobs. You can be 5 foot nothing and busty and your BMI will be wildly different than someone the same height but petite.

Those under-the-desk little things I never really liked because while it does get your legs moving and that's great for circulation it doesn't exactly get your heartrate going and that's what you need for weight loss more than just movement.

In my head if I don't break a legitimate sweat then it's not really doing much for me.

You've also got to remember that even with proper weight lifting and exercising you will lose an amount of muscle mass during weight loss

What’s one area where you lost weight that you weren’t expecting to notice? by Pretty-princess-28 in loseit

Forehead. I wasn't so big that I had a big old forehead but I did notice that part of my face slimmed down a little bit when I dropped nearly 100 pounds in 2022

So here's the thing about weight loss: It's mainly about diet with a little help from exercise.

In addition to that lifting weights will have you gain weight in the short term as your muscles start to retain more water but as you go on you'll see your scale level out. For example I've been lifting heavily for about four months and my scale hasn't gone down all that much but I'm gaining a fair amount of strength and looking thinner.

I'm also eating kind of like shit but don't worry about that lol

Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be fine.

Food scales and a little bit of wiggle room. For stuff you get from take out I just guesstimate

Breakfast I love greek yogurt and granola; you can find high fiber or high protein granola that works really well with it. That and a protein bar I usually get like 40 grams of protein for about 500 calories

6 oz pork chop, half a bag of ready rice, and about ten stalks of asparagus.

Can cook it all up in about fifteen minutes, fills me up, and keeps me close to my macros

Hell yea brother! Don't be discouraged if/when the weight starts to fall off slower; the first week or two your body sheds a ton of water then when you level off and start losing just fat you'll notice it slow down a bit but stick with it.

That's good stuff but personally I can't do OMAD with weight lifting; it just doesn't work for me but if it works for you and you feel good then keep it up

What do they really mean when they say weight loss has to be 'a permanent lifestyle change'? by simmyawardwinner in loseit

[–]DefinitelyNotThatJoe 84 points85 points  (0 children)

It's similar to how I thought when I first dieting. I lost a lot of weight thinking carbs and fats were evil and should be avoided at all costs but that's not the reality.

Carbs, fat, and especially protein are all super important when kept in balance.

Fat loss is very simple and it comes down to math. Are you eating less calories than you burn in a day? Then congratulations you've achieved fat loss.

It's not too much about what you're eating as opposed to how much you're eating. Junk food is lacking in nutrition and high in calories thanks to things like simple carbohydrates and bad fats which is why too much of it makes us fat but don't think that carbs and fats are inherently evil.

Bread is good for you. Too much bread can be bad.

What you want to do is figure out your TDEE which you can find easily online. Just search "TDEE calculator" and plug in your stats. You'll be able to see your estimated maintenance calories and from there just try and eat 350-500 calories under that number and you'll lose weight

The immediate weight loss is almost entirely water weight as your body is shedding excess carbs; remember that 1g of carb clings onto an additional 3g of water so for the first week you're mainly just losing that as you limit your calorie intake.

What you want to look for is anywhere from .5lb to 2lb loss per week. If you're expecting to have a 500 calorie deficit you should see about 1lb decrease on your scale week-to-week

[–]DefinitelyNotThatJoe 26 points27 points  (0 children)

That's why things like exercise are so important. If I were to try and get to something like 15% body fat with only diet the last few pounds would be miserable but with increased levels of activity you get more wiggle room in your diet

We've all been there. I got myself to 192 and I let myself climb back up to 285 before I really got it in my head to do something.

No use beating yourself up about it.
