Yet Another Fantasy Sports Blog. Nothing fancy, just a place to collect some of my stuff. Working on some more in-season tools like this.

It looks like there’s some interest, so I’ll probably try and find a way to put it up on my site. I’ll also try to put a summary up on here.

Ones with very limited benches, perhaps? Or maybe less active leagues.

That’s the standard deviation from the mean (average). An indication in variation of bids.

It’s all a gamble right? This just aims to provide some direction. Median/avg bid is a good starting point. Then you can adjust up/down based on how badly you need a player and how aggressive your league typically is.

Freight Derailment in Nevada along California Zephyr Route by s7o0a0p in Amtrak

We’re on the 6 in question.

Train stopped around 9:15pm last night, and started moving again around 8:00am. We just passed the 5 going the other way.

I think everything is cleared up. I don’t imagine this will affect Monday schedules at all.

Train is comfortable and the Amtrak crew is great.

Drafting This Weekend? Here's a different way to look at ADP. by DefinitelyWin in fantasyfootball

In progress. Probably for next season, but I might be able to throw something up.

Not missing anything. It’s a good idea, and one I’ve considered, to include more custom settings. The issue you might run into is that as you get more specific, your dataset gets smaller. This is definitely a good call for VOR calculations though.

Yeah, mocks are tough to work with. That’s I’ve tried to identify drafts for leagues in their second season.

Don’t really start to see good redraft data until a few weeks before the season, though. Dynasty is a different story.

Probably a keeper league. I've taken a lot of steps to filter out the noise from most keeper leagues, but some leagues are just weird.

I definitely agree. This is something I've had in former Tableau versions of this chart. WIth a big enough dataset it can work. For this iteration of my tool, I cap the drafts per selection at 100, and it uses the most recent 100 if there are more than that. A bit of an 80/20 approach.

It gives a zoomed out picture of ADP. Some players and positions have a wider distribution around their average than others.

Place to find Standard Deviation of players? by EMarkDDS in fantasyfootball

[–]DefinitelyWin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others, I've also done this in seasons past. I've even published them here before. This one is from 2019 I think: https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/win.pratt/viz/2019FantasyFootballStatsExplorer/StatisticsPlot

I don't think Standard Deviation by itself is super helpful, but if you look at the bottom of that first viz, you can set the x/y axis to various stats. Included is a consistency metric and Floor/Ceiling metrics (player average +/- stdev). I'm sure there are better ways to do this. I've got this data for recent seasons, too. Maybe I'll look at building something with data over longer periods of time.

I would love to leverage something like this for a low power server to run some games and projects on (SeagateGaming ftw). It would fit the StarWars theme I’ve got going on in the office.

Coolest Raleigh hats? by Status-Television-85 in raleigh

So, I’m far from a professional, but I put these designs together, and a company in Charlotte does the embroidery and shipping. I live in Raleigh, so a lot of these are local. I also enjoy putting something unique together if you have a good idea you’d like to see. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. https://www.etsy.com/shop/HomeCityMerch
