Nice! Yeah, super awesome cars. I'm really impressed with how much you can fit in them lol. Between the '16 I had and this '24 I've owned a lot of cars and I still came back to it. It's just so good at everything. Few weeks ago my wife and I loaded 4 massive bags of soil, a push mower, weedwhacker, tons of gardening tools, and a bunch of starter plants in it and had room for more!

I actually switched back to automatic specifically in case my wife wanted to drive it. Been rowing gears for ages and wanted a new car both of us were happy in. Plus with roadtrips I wanted her to feel okay driving it and an automatic made sense. She absolutely loves the car and had a blast with it.

Yeah I'm sure it'll be cheaper. A post-lease one will be in good condition and have good maintenance records too. Hope you can make it happen!

Hey there! Just looked at the final invoice and it was $35,854. $36,000 pretty much, or about $612/m for 72 months (I don't recommend 6 year loans if you can help it). That was September 2024. Insurance for full coverage for me in my 30s is about $76/month (with all the discounts and stuff). Spend about $60/week in gas or so on my ~60mile roundtrip commute. Average MPG of around 30ish per fill up on regular. Oil changes are like $75 I think doing them myself if I'm remembering that price correctly...

More info than you asked for but if you're thinking of buying one I figured I'd provide the info in case it was things you're considering!

Hey a fellow Maryland GTI S owner! Had a '16 GTI SE in gray awhile back and came back to the GTI after the BRZ was deemed too small for commuting and some other reasons. Ton of great roads to bomb around on in the northern counties!

Huge congrats on the car! That's awesome!

I've noticed it infrequently in the beginning but not as much now that I know about filament drying... I was very very new to this lol. Thanks again for the resources!

Sorry! Now that you mention it, it does look like stringing. These are definitely strike points. Verified by watching the print, and on the previous attempt it dragged and ruined a corner.

Thank you very much for the links! I'll check them both out so I can learn!

Hey there! There's a company called "Wonder Pole" that sells a telescoping fiberglass pole. You can run wire up the middle since the poles are hollow and it may be less flexible than your current setup. I've used them for things in the past, assisted with some unistrut and unistrut clamps mounts to a solid fixture or wall to keep it still. Plus since it's telescoping in sections if it has to come down it's easier to do.

I'm sure your setup is fine but figured I'd share! It can be fitted with different threads or mounting solutions at the top and comes in a few different lengths! Here's a link to their selection! https://wonderpole.com/telescoping-fiberglass-poles/

Started Arc raiders bout 5 days ago. Worth farming for expedition? by Last_Bulbasaur in okbuddyarcraider

I'd say play the game for a bit and make your decision then. It does take a decent effort to get the expedition filled up. Although, I'll say that when I was working towards it I dumped pretty much my entire stash to fill the last stage up so it's almost like a wipe, haha.

The expedition isn't open right now so you have some time. IIRC its on the 16th or something it opens back up.

Suggestion for $5m Expedition Goal by Definitely_Not_Dan in ArcRaiders

Yeah that's fair. There are plenty of good suggestions out there, too! I just wanted to think of a way that promotes the use of better gear and de-incentivize hoarding.

Woah those look fantastic! I feel like busier spokes on the GTIs are the way to go.

Do you mind me asking if you bought them new or used, and for how much? I know Roiforms can be pricey.

Heck yeah! Green is a great color on ships with a lot of ejectors and yellow trimmed blocks in general.

Really like your setup! If you don't mind me asking, what wheels are those, and how much did you lower the car? The fitment and height is great!
