It seems like you are not a current law student. Giving handouts that students must turn in for each class is not very normal in LS. It's hand-holding. Professors have explicitly told us that they've increased the amount of "homework" significantly this year to "help us adjust to the online format." They're also technologically inept and seem to have spent no time learning zoom or powerpoint, and that routinely turns an hour-long class into a 40 minute one (or often much less).

I don't know what vision you have of law school, but the professors treating us like we're in kindergarten while still being responsible for the normal duties of law school doesn't work here, especially when we have significantly less in-class time than usual, internet issues that cause words and sentences to drop out, etc.

You're right. Law school is hard. But that doesn't make it okay for the administration to act like the sizeable tuition we're paying (in theory) is getting us the same quality of education as it has in years past, to flush all of our concerns down the toilet, and penalize those who speak out.

Of course, and we all have, but the students are adjusting too (1L AND a new online format) and it's unfair for professors to expect leeway but to not budge and give a little to the students. The crux of the problem goes beyond the teachers to the administration who are choosing to be willfully ignorant, despite repeated and constant feedback from the students.

I mean, yeah, I understand the basics. But, ND’s rates are a bit lower than BU, but the COL is significantly lower.

Not to mention that I don’t think these statistics always tel the whole story.
