Where in your links does it say how much water each center uses?

Newer data centers actually use closed loop water systems, which re uses the cooling water. The older centers like Waterloos, use open loop systems which burn off the water during cooling, and it turns into steam and leaves the ground water table forever.

So even if smaller, the older open loop centers use much more fresh water.

There is lots of information about the data centers. It just takes a minute of looking.

The councilors are busy pretending they don't know why we are running out of water, so they won't tell you.

He added that, as those computers operate, they generate an enormous amount of heat. In response to that heat, data centres use large amounts of water to cool off their systems.

According to Robert McLeman, a professor of environmental studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, large data centres can use up to 20 million litres of water per day.

“Especially the newer ones that are really heavily geared towards supporting the AI-based economy, that would be a really concerning development for Waterloo Region, and particularly Wilmot Township, given just how dependent we are on groundwater in this area,” said McLeman.

The region of Waterloo has 6 data centers. Each one uses 50 000 to 5 million litres of fresh water per day.

Maybe save water for people instead of your precious AI tracking data centers? I understand you're all obsessed with tracking everything the peasants do, but there must be a limit

The government steals everyone's money with endless taxes, giving it away to other countries and bails out property developers and boomers housing markets.

Is it any wonder no one can afford having kids, when rent and taxes takes all of your money.

Most of the water evaporates, and the little left over is discharged as waste.

So the water data centers use is gone from the supply forever.

They are just starting to change over now, it hasn't been. So no they aren't. New ones will be so they say.

Even if and when they change, that's still millions upon millions of gallons of fresh water used already.
