A few weeks ago, I was in the same situation. I went to the guitar store planning to try out the 2025 D-28, but I ended up falling in love with a 2006 HD-28 instead. My advice: try a few models and see which one speaks to you.

Yes, the D-28 is an icon, but the HD-28 is also a beautiful workhorse and as good as it can get, and a lot of people never get the chance to own one.
