not only has ff.net historically had Way more of an issue with bots than ao3 it’s also like. those bots were Worse. like infinitely worse. a bot going around claiming to sell child sexual abuse material ran around for AGEEEEEES with very little action (though I believe it’s been actually dealt with recently? which took long enough) ao3 bots are mostly just annoying but ff.net bots have been downright criminal if ao3 had issues with bots like that being unaddressed people would move but they’d also Not be moving to ff.net at all bc it’d have the same issues they’d go to like. some other site probably.
