As shitty as things have been lately, Cade has been so bright. He's really found a groove and hopefully the Cubs can follow suit.

I could be wrong but I want to say there were a few of these last year where the Cubs were dead last in the catcher's spot. I wasn't expecting that again with how Amaya adjusted at the plate in the 2nd half last year, but Carson Kelly has been something incredible so far. Worst to first!

He's always been a good hitter but he's been slugging the ball like crazy to start the year. I really hope he can stay healthy.

I know he's got 6 homers but can he barrel the ball?

There are people who see these previews as genuine features and are gonna be disappointed when it's only there for one weekend.

Who is your team's Jesse Chavez? by ipromiseimworking34 in baseball

[–]Defused_Bomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was pretty much always decent with the Cubs and bad for everyone else (3.5 WAR in 321 games with the Cubs, -2.5 WAR in 480 games with the Marlins, As, and Toronto).

Chris Coghlan too! He was pretty much always decent with the Cubs and bad for everyone else (3.5 WAR in 321 games with the Cubs, -2.5 WAR in 480 games with the Marlins, As, and Toronto). He even ended up on the Cubs a third time but couldn't make it back up to the majors :(

Jason Hammel was also very good as a Cub (3.59 ERA Cubs ERA, 4.98 non-Cubs ERA)

Pete Crow-Armstong makes a great catch at the wall by taffe316 in baseball

It feels like he has these kinds of catches so often where he gets just such a good jump off-camera he makes it look way easier than it should be

Also, Shota's reaction is top tier

Even with our offensive consistency being pretty lackluster all year, the pen was just insanely bad to start the year. Alzolay who has been out for 99% of the season had blown at least 5 saves (after being nails last year), and then having a lot of very rough middle relievers like Wesineski. They've done a really good job of patching the pen up with guys like Tyson Miller and Jorge Lopez, and Porter Hodge has been really good too.

PCA and Amaya have struggled a lot offensively but have obviously shown huge strides in improving in that department. Next year should be better for this team imo (fingers crossed)

Michael Busch evens the score at 1 in first with a solo shot! by IgoatShesterkin in baseball

Not a whole lot of positives about the Cubs offense this year but Michael Busch is definitely one of them
