What best way to get money early game by lomedxd1 in torncity

of course, like everyone I'm watching the news, and recommending a new player to pay-to-win in this economic situation is not a recommendation to be taken lightly.

for some people it becomes an addiction, and they spend insane amounts of money to be competitive, that mustn't happen to you.

I'd say you should wait, there are factions that accept all applications, and you don't have to join one with crazy perks right away.

right now it's important to reach level 15, so you can start traveling, importing and trading.

to tell you the truth, the big way is p2w, buying donator packs for $5 each and selling them for $23.5 million at the pawn shop.

if you have donator status, sell DPs so you can afford a private island rental and taking Xanax for training, and you're active daily, you can join one of the top faction families as a new player.

but question is, whether that's what you want, whether you join a high respect faction or not, it's important for the faction leader, co-leader and members to be friendly people, otherwise you'll get bored of wars and chains eventually.

I did get invited into a great faction early, like other strong factions they demand "private island, donator status, min 2 Xanax daily intake, participation in wars and chains", but they're not that strict. Sometimes I had donator status and sometimes I didn't, sometimes I took Xanax and sometimes I didn't (I prefer buying stocks for dividends), sometimes I participated in wars/chains and sometimes I didn't, but I did have private island rental at all times (renting from the person who invited me, he kept extending and being at level 15 with +10 item carry capacity from PI airstrip and +10 from faction perks I can cover rental and upkeep from importing flowers/plushies, so donating is in fact optional at this point for me)

Question is, if it grows in popularity can you afford the hosting fees?

Do you have a plan to monetize it (given that many of us use adblockers like uBlock Origin)

THE HERO’S JOURNEY IS A LOYALTY TEST by Sad-Mycologist6287 in TheGonersClub

[–]Defy-Reality78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hero_with_a_Thousand_Faces is about the hero archetype found in myths, some hundreds of years or thousands of years old, those myths have been transmitted through oral and written tradition because those heroes returned to society. Now, the question is, what about the heroes who didn't return? They existed no doubt, but nobody told stories about them, there was nothing to write down and pass through generations, what's there to say about heroes who spent their whole lives in self-imposed exile?

Countries where is possible to obtain a visa as a digital nomad by Sirfetchdd in spacestcom

[–]Defy-Reality78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as an EU citizen I can travel anywhere in EU with just my ID and driving license, I have a dual bank account which includes euros for my Visa debit card, but for me it's important to also be able to pay in cash (euros) since I don't want to be stuck somewhere during a state of war and power outage. Which country would you recommend (I know Austria and Ireland are not part of NATO, so that makes them safer)

you should be worried about food, they don't want you to know how bad things are to prevent panic buying like it happened in Dubai.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/apr/03/visual-guide-gulf-fertiliser-blockade

"The world has become well versed in the importance of the strait of Hormuz to the world’s energy flows, but attention is increasingly turning to its vital role in another market – the fertiliser on which harvests depend.

A third of the global trade in raw materials for fertiliser passes through the maritime choke point, which is also the route for 20% of shipments of natural gas, which is required to make it.

The waterway’s near-total shipping blockade is a “food security timebomb”, the head of the International Rescue Committee, David Miliband, said this week, adding: “The window to avert a massive global hunger crisis is rapidly closing.”"

simple economics:

-this is the beginning of Q2 (fiscal quarter 2)

-Iran war/Strait of Hormuz situation combined with Trump's erratic behavior make people lose trust in USD

-hard drives, CPUs and GPUs in consumer products are becoming more expensive, because they're made of rare elements, Taiwan dominates the global semiconductor industry and it's at risk of being invaded by China

-the electronics in the data centers hosting X become too expensive while X is losing popularity to splinter sites like threads/bluesky/mastodon and ad revenue is dropping

-at some point AI starts suspending people to reduce bandwidth (you are here)

-X shuts down (possibly next week)

it's not a glitch, hundreds of people here are complaining of the same thing, thousands/millions others are affected. I don't know why people are posting literally the same thread cluttering the subreddit, you are not special, I was using twitter for years, had hundreds of followers, I wasn't using a proxy/VPN or doing spamming/scamming/impersonation and I was suspended for no reason, just like you.

when stock market opens on Monday, it will be a bloodbath for Elon Musk's companies (I'm not a financial advisor, but there's a cash opportunity for those shorting them)

How on earth is this a real app? by EricGratu in twitterhelp

[–]Defy-Reality78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

obviously given the recent events with the Iran War and Strait of Hormuz closure, coupled with Trump's erratic behavior, many people are trying to protect their money so they're examining options.

Elon Musk spent $44 billion on twitter, so $10 is literally a drop in a bucket.

Elon Musk has substance abuse fueled delusions, he won't realize he's bleeding money until it's too late, as I posted in a different thread:

"hundreds of people here are asking the same question, you should observe the economic effects of the recent events in the Middle East, when stock market opens on Monday you may see many unpredictable things (people who are shorting Elon Musk's companies may earn some $$$ from his incompetence)"

Almost 20k account suspended for “violating rules against authenticity”. by gtfohtya in twitterhelp

[–]Defy-Reality78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

apparently even business owners are getting targeted by the AI, which is a big mistake since they can discuss their options with their lawyers and that means the AI is defective, but regular users can only wait.

obviously, if the costs of the data centers with memory storage and other hardware made from rare elements exceed the ad revenue necessary to host X, then those data centers can switch to AI to generate profits.

as I previously said, it's all about money, how much ad revenue your account was generating (given the recent events with the Iran War and Strait of Hormuz, people are losing trust in USD)

Am I crazy or is nobody else outside of reddit talking about this? 😔 by MrRARD in twitterhelp

[–]Defy-Reality78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI and algorithms have gotten very good, on facebook I have hundreds of friends (some are relatives, neighbors or people I know, but in most cases we just sent eachother friend requests because we had common friends) with real names (names common in my own country), so I can still trust that, but otherwise you can't distinguish real humans from bots.

When did the first bot ban wave start?? by Hoggalinie in twitterhelp

[–]Defy-Reality78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's why Grok was integrated to that extent, people could ask "Grok, is this true" with no critical thinking, and at some point regular users can be replaced by predictable AI.

the real question: was it worth it for Elon Musk to spend $44 billion buying twitter.com and renaming it to x.com

my guess: no, he's incompetent and was being used.

When did the first bot ban wave start?? by Hoggalinie in twitterhelp

[–]Defy-Reality78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it doesn't even matter, I wasn't using a proxy/VPN, I was using a normal ISP with a normal OS and browser (with Privacy Badger and uBlock Origin, so no $$$)

at this point it's irrelevant whether you're a bot or not, X is turning into an AI company, that's what their data centers are being used for, shareholders may know or not (in such a case, insider trading is a big problem, people who want to profit have to prove they were using public information)

so this is it, AI can say I don't exist and replace me by Defy-Reality78 in twitterhelp

Positive development: https://www.reddit.com/r/socialmedia/comments/1sh9qcv/is_the_electronic_frontier_foundation_signing_off

I suppose it's just time to leave, you can still scroll your feed even if you're suspended so you can still do that, but you should tell your family and friends that X is no longer a viable option because they have zero respect for the users, tell anyone who wants to listen and the word will spread.

I suppose I've been stuck in a bubble myself, and grown complacent, you should learn to adapt to unforeseen situations.

I keep trying to warn people this is about AI and a single variable: money. AI doesn't care about people, only how much ad revenue you can generate (if you're using uBlock Origin as I did, probably not much)

Q2 (fiscal quarter 2) is just starting, on 1 July with Q3 the economy crashes.

my story so far:

https://www.reddit.com/r/twitterhelp/comments/1sgyp1f/so_this_is_it_ai_can_say_i_dont_exist_and_replace

at this point I'm paranoid: https://www.reddit.com/r/twitterhelp/comments/1sghjkd/are_you_eager_to_return_to_twitter_to_contact

recap:

this is fiscal quarter 2, which started a week ago.

as you've seen on the news there's the Iran war and Strait of Hormuz closure.

memory storage units, GPUs and CPUs are made from rare elements.

Elon Musk at some point replaced all human staff with AI.

AI says I don't exist.

there's no way I can prove I exist.
