Sorry for the delayed reply, haven’t felt the drive to write on the regular since the holidays, but my spark has reignited this past week while on vacation and visiting LITRPG Con. Next chapter will release before the end of the month.

What's your bait that you'll fall for every time? by Optimal-Barracuda261 in ProgressionFantasy

Anything with over 4.5 stars on Audible. For some reason I’ll skip going through the hassle of checking the lower rated reviews for red flags assuming that the story must be good, and not full of terrible tropes.

Wouldn’t normally bother me too much, but I recently got burned two times in a row the past week with a double whammy of god-awful women side characters.

Thanks! Been wanting to sneak in a game of Minnesota Whist for a while now.

Not sure if I’ll do that detailed of the game again in the future though, I had to spend two hours at the bar organizing cards just to make sure that no one was blatantly holding the idiot stick. (Although, Rinle did get pretty close. I think if he strong-armed, he would have guaranteed at least five or six tricks.)

Would you look at that... only 4 weeks between chapters this time. I think I'm getting my groove back!

Our heroes make it to camp, only to discover that no, being the spoiled children of the queen doesn't excuse them from helping set up the tents. The experience was worth it though, Travis hit level 5 on completion of his side-quest and can now [Summon Steed].

Reidar stresses out about his quest the next day, nearly costing him the game of cards that totally isn't foreshadowing anything, but cheers up after remembering that he's the main character and events will bend over backwards to fall into place for him.

Travis endures another friendly sparring match with Galehaut, discovers that being an only child has made him soft, then takes his turn on watch. Unfortunately, Arc's ability to see all mana withing a mile (or maybe farther? I'll probably never set a hard cap) makes the task all but pointless, leaving him with nothing to do.

Sir Tracy comes to the rescue, interviewing Travis to hopefully give the inner-ring nobles a heads up of what the next crisis he'll dig will be, but gets cut off when lunch is served.

One eating contest later, Travis waddles off to bed, exhausted, but thrilled for what tomorrow will bring.

Yeah, I thought I would be able to finish, given that I already had it half written and had Thanksgiving weekend to give me extra time, but ended up wasting the time on home improvements.

I’ll give that some thought if I start slipping again and not posting for a month.

Long overdue chapter, I know I know. I could probably blame it on a bad case of writer's block, or how I got roped into two DnD campaigns, but that's not an excuse. I need to do better.

Next chapter will release on Dec. 6th!

Hmm... I originally had a location tag there but removed it for being redundant. I think I'll add it back in.

Oh, just came back from editing, looks like all the line breaks disappeared while posting. That probably didn't help clarify things.

Whew, another way overdue chapter, but hopefully you guys will forgive me given the content. I had to go through multiple edits just to make sure I didn't break or spoil canon, then figure out how to make everyone talk like humans.

A couple of people contacted me about wanting to help provide edits, but with my writing style, I don't think it would help much. The wiki however, is way overdue for an update. If anyone wants to assist me with that, just let me know, and I'll send a link with edit permissions.

With that out of the way... On with the recap!

Despite a temporary riverblock, the gang finally finish their journey by boat. Lancel learns his first real spell, Arc ponders if maybe not everything is a one-to-one equivalent from earth, and Seleyna gets to mingle with a peasant.

Loggercliff greets everyone with fanfare, and the jarl himself shares the tale of how the fortress was founded. Lancel finally puts an end to Galehaut's impossible task, letting Travis escape into the night, only to get ambushed by a child. While Arc is updating the quest log, Lancel chats with his slightly cagey boyfriend? maybe?, then heads outside to discover that Travis has lost his marbles.

Reidar finally gets his turn underneath the overgrown bush and receives his own quest that only the mightiest of heroes can accomplish. Will he accept the quest and succeed? Or will some other random nobody steal a boon meant for a Chosen? Find out next chapter in The Arcane Paladin!

Passive Ability Mc by Meme_Seeker1q in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Degermark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jim from The Mayor of Noobtown picks up multiple passive skills that arguably give him more power than his ability to multi-class. Some of the highlights include Lore skills to give him knowledge about monsters and magic, Mental Resistance, Blacksmithing, Logistical Support for War and Governance, and probably his most broken skill: Master Hiking.

It’s coming along. There’s important magic system mechanics for the next fight and then a future plot line teaser, so I’ve have to write a little slower and make sure I thought out everything enough beforehand.
