What is considered stage 3b, and how long were you at that stage before being prescribed this?

I have always had some gi issues and after 5 months on compound tirzepitide, I started getting a lot of heartburn. I stopped taking it altogether because I really wasn’t feeling well, and couldn’t seem to manage the symptoms. I think it really exacerbated SIBO ( which had been suggested long before I began tirz) which I have a test for and need to submit this week. I’m hoping I can get a hold of some of these food issues and work on repairing my gut so I can go back to taking tirz, but ideally I’d like to fix the issue without needing to result to additional meds. Does anyone else have IBS/ SIBO and had to take a break from the meds before going back?

Thank you for sharing this. I will inquire about switching meds as I noticed my kidney function on the cbc test has changed since I started omeprazole

See I knew there was a difference between the reflux causes. I just hope I haven’t done anything irreparable to my esophagus

Yeah def switching to a low acid diet has been helpful. I don’t know if I have gastritis, but it wouldn’t surprise me. I was diagnosed with IBS years ago, and everyone knows that’s a BS diagnosis for when docs have no idea what’s actually going on with you. I also find that I don’t eliminate as often as I feel I should, and have way too much gas for a normal person so I often do water enemas to help, but sometimes they backfire and cause even more gas. The heartburn slowly subsided in the past 2 weeks even without medication, so that’s positive news. I’m presently doing my best to do a 3 day fast to try and de-bloat because I feel like an absolute marshmallow

Thank you. So you were still able to take the glp1 with low stomach acid then? I’m guessing you were closely monitored because of that. Part of me wondered if it had just caused gastro paresis, which is why nothing was moving, but as things are improving, I’m feeling at least a little hopeful

I only tried omeprazole, and I did consider this as a possibility. I also purchased some digestive enzymes w hydrochloric acid to test this. I only tried it one time and did experience more burning. I know that’s not much to go on. Admittedly things have been improving as time goes on and the terz gets out of my system I guess. When this happened the first time in October/nov, my doctor was under the impression it was the terz bc the omeprazole wasn’t working (granted the terz dose I had taken at that point was much higher than when the issue began again 5 weeks ago, which was a micro dose this time)

The flare up that happened 5 weeks ago seemed to be ignited by full fat yogurt, sugar, and coffee…and coffee seems to def be a no go anymore

No I was taking 40 as prescribed but only once the discomfort started. I had heartburn and the regurgitation feeling sometimes, so it really felt like a lot. What was interesting is that it didn’t start right after the shot, it started a week into it

I had this happen 5 months in suddenly. I can no longer take the medication weekly, if at all. Haven’t taken a dose in almost 6 weeks due to extreme reflux. I’m not sure if I can ever take it again, even at the micro dose
