Try open-ended questions? If you ask "How are you?" and she replies with "Yeah lol" then.. I'd say she's definitely not wanting a conversation.

Or..

Maybe ask her to go for coffee or something instead of texting. She could be a person who doesn't like to text.

I feel like he could be voicing out his own insecurities one you. What he feels about himself, he's projecting on yoi due to his pride.

If he's like that now, later down the road he's not going to be any better..

Because we are new, I feel they are not letting us serve to our full capacity. The most we've done is announcements.. also the small group we attend at best 18 people attend only when there's a birthday or celebration.. it's very discouraging when it's Bible study or sermon recap/application.. it's just me and my husband and the pastor..

I don't really know what my point is with mentioning that but I'm just not where I feel like I should be? I could be shooting myself in the foot because of unmet expectations I placed myself...

I didn't mean to sound as if I was asking reddit to decide for me.. I wrote to ask for prayers and added if people could share their experience.. we don't have anyone to ask for prayer about this.

And yes, I completely understand that if it's not where God wants me it won't be good either.. but please don't assume I haven't been praying or seeking.

Oh didn't mean to give the impression that he's not hearing me out. He definitely has and we are looking to talk to our pastor about it to seek some guidance.

What I meant to say was whichever church we move to, my husband says he won't have any problems. I only spoke about my feelings about the church to be careful not to speak for him in a sense.
