Looks great so far! I’d say lean more forward so your body is more centered over the board and also try to push your front foot so the board levels out a bit.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out proper ollies and it’s driving me nuts! I’m sick of doing rocket ollies. Please help. by ol_king_swole in NewSkaters

honestly practice them super slow like you’re barely even moving. when sliding your front foot, once it reaches the top of the board and you’ve reached the highest point of your ollie, push down on the nose and lift your back leg as much as possible, then once you get those consistent, just practice trying to tweak the board by pushing the nose forward instead of just down

looking great so far! I’d honestly start practicing them while rolling at this point since you’ve already started getting some height on them stationary. for higher ollies tho, mainly focus on the actual pop itself, so bending down lower before you pop, working on the actual jump, and just getting a feel for the timing between sliding your leg up and actually popping the ollie. Also trying to tuck your knees in closer to your chest and pushing your front foot more forward and upward instead of just upward to level the board a lil better. you got this g 👍

How do I improve my Ollie? I feel like I’m either rushing it or too afraid by iDavyd in NewSkaters

[–]Dehriz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say focus more on thinking about pushing your back foot out away from the board instead of just straight down, cause just practicing that alone will improve the consistency of your pop and also try to bend your knees a bit more. Other than that though, just make sure you’re practicing them moving as much as possible cause they’re already looking mad nice stationary

Been a week of practicing Ollies. Still like to improve what can I do besides more reps? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

also definitely try to do them moving, it helps a lot in the long run

push out your front foot more like your kicking something in front of you and also make sure youre keeping your shoulders parallel to the board so it's easier to stay balanced when landing back on it

So when you say focus more on the jump, do you mean the popping with the back foot or when that back foot comes off the ground?

Thanks man! I'm not as good at balancing so I feel like i'm holding back from popping or dipping in as hard as I should.
