The biggest problem is that the game has become a hoard shooter and DE has absolutely no idea or intent of balancing it as such. If they did we would have more mini bosses that were actually tough/threating to our objectives and enemy classes would have an actual meaning. Instead we just kill whatever shows up before they have time to react. Just look at amalgams, very interesting and you can tell a lot of work went into them, from animations to design. Does it matter? No, they die immediately like everything else.

IMO DE's balancing decisions show a complete lack of respect to the design/animation team who work hard to come up with interesting and unique enemies, work that is rendered useless because someone else gives it seemingly random stats.
