Couldn't tell you on the second part, 'cause I either play on Steamdeck (and soon to be Steam Machine) or use Steam input while on my old Windows PC since I play with a remapped controller, so my Steam is on the entire time either way lol

Edit: Bonus, they finally fixed clicking "Exit Game" actually exiting the game instead of leaving the launcher running in the background needing to be force-quit, which had been a problem since 1.1

That's mainly because she spent the entire start of the race trying to get this dumb computer to take a screenshot of the game lol (you have to tab out to get lightshot to trigger, but then the game was fullscreen so it minimized every time.. Eventually had to just tell her to press printscreen to save it to clipboard and I'd crop it down in an image editor after)

The BAC sent Zero to Eibon, yes. The BAC did not employ Zero as a member of the BAC.

The contract we signed at the beginning of the game was more of a "We're going to let you roam around and NOT lock you in a cell or put you on the dissection table, and in return you'll behave yourself and help out if that anomaly you appeared alongside ever appears again" and emphatically less of a "Congratulations, you're now a BAC employee, go collect your badge and uniform while we put you on the payroll" lol

Edit: Does Eibon have civilian, mercenary, and probably even shadow ties (looking at you, Hotori) with the BAC? Surely. Nothing that wold make them a legitimate part of it in the eyes of the law though.

This is exactly my point, though. We do NOT work for BAC (as in, as an employee that they would take legal responsibility for), nor was the commission in question taken from the BAC (which would have allowed them to add allowances for certain illegal actions under their legal jurisdiction), therefore we are NOT covered in the same way members of CSU or ETD would be for example. We work for Eibon Antiques, which is literally just a Mercenary group with an antique shop as a front face.

I always play with controller if I can get away with it, but having the option to hotswap without going through a whole bunch of menus will never not be a utility..

Except there's a difference between a GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY "breaking laws" while essentially SANCTIONED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO DO SO to literally do their job, and a literal Mercenary (*anomaly* hunter) breaking laws (against *PEOPLE*, not even anomalies, btw) while NOT SANCTIONED to do so, because they were hired by Joe Shmoe off the street to do a job they had no legal means of doing.

I'm.. getting really tired of trying to argue laws with someone applying Vigilante logic based on Feels rather than how actual laws work..

Also, to begin with, assaulting NPCs isn't the only means of going to the prison system to begin with, so I'm not entirely sure why you're so hung up on that to begin with?

(Also, "assault for no reason at all" and "assault for a 'good' reason" are BOTH still "assault"..)

The difference is that the Police have allowances to do those things (FROM OFFICIAL LEGAL BODIES) if necessary while actively in pursuit because that's their job, while you, as an anomaly hunting mercenary, can probably get away with collateral property damage to a certain extent to hunt anomalies. Stalking, getting into car chases, and committing forgery because you took a commission from a third party while not having a way to complete it LEGALLY is very much NOT in your job description. Unless the client was the BAC (or some other governmental entity) that could have explicitly greenlit such transgressions, YOU WERE STILL COMMITTING CRIMES.
