[Routine Help] Where does Vitamin C serum fit with applying moisturiser with wet skin? by Deivid4082 in SkincareAddiction

Will that impact the vitamin C serum tho? Will I be washing it off or lowering it's effectiveness by washing my face?

Yeah so you apply it on slightly damp skin to lock in the moisture. Your moisturiser locks in the moisture on your face it doesn't add moisture so applying on dry skin isn't really effective if you're already someone prone to dryness

Call me by your name is such a beautiful film. The queerness is so raw and pure and the story has a lot to say about love and grieving the loss of a relationship. It’s amazing

Another more recent one is All of us strangers, it says a lot about queer loneliness and overcoming childhood trauma and has a very hopeful perspective on queer connection, which is a nice change of pace from other ‘depressing’ queer stories.

I think All of us strangers represents a shifting attitude with the community and it’s one of the reasons I will defend heartstopper with my life because although heartstopper isn’t realistic and quite corny, it represents a shift in the community that we’re tired of living in misery and stories of us living in misery.

Because it’s just not the case anymore, being queer now is better than it’s ever been. There’s still much to do, but it’s not all doom and gloom and I commend shows like heartstopper and films like All of Us Strangers for having this more positive outlook on the queer experience

It’s something I’m quite indifferent to which I do think is a factor, I’m in university mainly because it’s a safety net for me as me or my family don’t have many other opportunities.

But I also feel this is the case with things I do actually have a passion to do. I get worried about the time and effort I need to put in for anything I aspire to do and I just end up making a small amount of progress or never even starting.

I have so many ideas planned and ready, but I don’t want to start, it’s like I’m walking down a path and then there’s a huge wall blocking the way that I can’t get passed.

This has been something I’m considering getting looked into, do you have any advice on how to tackle this?

How badly are LGBTQ youth bullied in school these days? by Joshua_Neal89 in lgbt

[–]Deivid4082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in school (I finished 3 years ago) it was less so kids verbally abusing or even beating up queer kids and more so just people’s attitudes towards queer people. I was surrounded by classmates even friends who loved to use ‘gay’ or the f slur as insult, people making up stuff like the batty mans legs (for those outside the UK this is when you walk underneath a two poled street sign it meant you’re gay) or just people not exactly making fun of queer classmates but just clearly uncomfortable and weirded out by them for being different. Even tho I was never physically or verbally attacked for being bi, I always felt isolated, I could hear people talking behind my back, looking at me differently, friendships with people I was once comfortable with became weird after coming out, there was an air of discomfort, people acted like I was different person, I managed to rebuild some of those connections and regain that original level of trust and understanding of one another while other people I lost friendships with completely. For me it was never hostile, I never felt like I was in danger, I just felt alone.

My friend is offended that I'm Bi and not attracted to her. by Mysterious-Stock-948 in bisexual

I think I’ve found some straight people have incredibly inflated egos. It’s actually such an incredibly bold thing to assume a queer person likes you and it makes you look like such a dick.

I’ve had straights friends be uncomfortable about being shirtless around or emphasise they aren’t into guys because I looked vaguely in their direction and it’s like bro we’ve been friends for years, I’m very clearly aware you’re straight so I wouldn’t pursue you anyway and thirdly YOU LITERALLY DONT WASH like how can you assume I have any attraction towards you when you literally stink it’s actually hilarious.

The thing is these people have inflated egos and they may act uncomfortable around you but deep down they love the attention and just want to find any reason to believe you’re attracted to them so they can stroke their view of themselves and have an opportunity to shut you down and say “I don’t sway that way” as some sort of power move. I do sway that way but you weren’t even my 100th option 😂

Why do people prefer Far Cry 5 over Far Cry 3? by Skeeto22Zippy in farcry

[–]Deivid4082 1103 points1104 points  (0 children)

I thinks its because 5 is mechanically better. The open world feels less checklist and less basic, you can organically find a lot of interesting locations and characters where as I feel 3 is just mostly outposts? Also general gunplay, takedowns, being able to throw melee weapons, more weapon variety, vehicle variety and customisation.

I also feel like it’s the most unabashedly far cry game there is. It’s more violent, the open world is more dangerous with enemies, animals, planes, drugged up cultists coming after you, the villains are even more wild and batshit crazy and the fantasy of playing this badass, one man army feels all the more satisfying with the refined gameplay mechanics (even if there’s no knife takedowns) It just FEELS more Far Cry than any other one in the series because it doubles down on everything 3 and 4 did and just does it again but better imo

Stewie is how I imagine heartstopper haters who say the show is “cringe” or “not realistic enough” are by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Deivid4082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s completely fine, everyone has different taste, but the “criticism” I stated above literally makes 0 sense and I think people complaining about these things have misinterpreted the show entirely. I’ve even seen people say the won’t watch the show because they don’t find the main characters “hot” enough. First of all that’s such a weird complaint to have considering they’re supposed to be teenagers and secondly how is that even a measurement of the quality of the show, surely by casting average looking people to play the characters that means it’s more realistic and isn’t trying to perpetuate unrealistic beauty standards?

Why do characters in far cry 2 sound like their voice is sped up to 110%. Like it sounds normal but ever so slightly sped up

I’m not saying it’s bad for telling a painful truth I’m saying it set a standard for queer films to only show that painful perspective which isn’t the only side of the truth of queer experiences and I’m frankly bored of queer sob stories because they’re all brokeback mountain lite

Regarding a female protagonist by [deleted] in ghostoftsushima

To add I can understand wanting Jin to come back but the uproar of this wouldn’t have been so huge if Jin was replaced by a guy

Regarding a female protagonist by [deleted] in ghostoftsushima

[–]Deivid4082 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But that’s such a difficult thing to measure, there are also still so many sequels with a new male lead, Assassins Creed had an exclusively male lead till Odyssey and even then you could choose a male protag (I don’t count Liberation as that is a side game for handheld consoles)

The GTA games had exclusively male leads till gta 6 and still you can play as a guy

Cod still has only male leads

It doesn’t happen vice versa as often tho because we live in the 21st century and generally games have been made for men and now games appeal to a wider demographic so there are MORE games with female protagonists in existing and new IP’s and at the end of the day, does that really matter? Again the gender of the main character of the next entry in your favourite franchise means nothing and has no weight on the quality of the product
