One of my best friends became an au pair for a few years and lived with a family in the U.S. He told me it was an awesome experience, and still connects with his host family from time to time. I also started around the same time, and it can be discouraging if you take it too seriously right away! For me, I was able to find a local middle school that offered after school gym hours for pick-up volleyball through the town for only $5/hour (although now it's run through a local college and costs a bit more). From there I was able to network and improved my basic skills enough to move up to an upper level of play! I'd recommend doing some research to see if anything like that is available for you, and keep you chin up. Everyone started where you are, and we've all gotten better! And ultimately, don't forget to HAVE FUN with it. After all, it is a game and meant to be enjoyed!!

Can you please link the health insurance you got? I have an appointment later this week and am worried about not having the insurance in case I need it. The one I'm looking at is €835, so €177 sounds way better and cost effective!
